Almost 4 years later...

3 year after the surgery and still being extremely overweight, I decided to try and lose 50 lbs. to look and feel better. It is way better to get down to a BMI of 30 or less before doing Lipo or Tummy tuck. I must admit, I do want to go through it again.... with a different doctor.
Now, another year later... I feel extremely good about myself. But it's still not where i want it to be. At this moment, I'm searching for an amazing Doctor who has great reviews, is a board certified PLASTIC surgeon, has great bedside manner, and most of all, respects my time and business.

I had a loooong conversation with dr. shahine...
I had a loooong conversation with dr. shahine about how to get my stomach down without it looking deformed and he gave me helpful information like, wearing my waist trimmer, which is like a yoga mat, under my garment, placing a towel there so it prevents a crease in your stomach.... staying away from sodium because it makes your body retain water, coming in for drainage, and doing the massage. after a good 45 minutes of him encouraging me and telling what to do differently, i felt good leaving there. I vowed i wwould never go there because of the waiting period, but I came this far and I dont want to stop now because this tummy has to go down!!! I'm glad I went there the other day, because i know more now than i did before. Also, ladies.... it's okay to be a monster and demand for a better body... dont be lazy, dont be shy.... scream if you have to... if you're unhappy, say so and see what can be done! and also... dr. shahine is a 3x board certified OB/GYN!!! Don't get it twisted, if you're confused, I'm clarifying it... he does plastic surgery procedures like the bbl's and the lipo... and he probably does that cause he likes working with the womans body ;-) *hint hint* lol, but don't put all your hopes in one basket... i learned not to.

That's the Same way my results are my stomach is lumpy. One area has so much removed it has caused a dent, while another side has a whole handful grab of fat. When I'm laying down is the only time it looks semi normal. Standing up one whole side of my stomach protrudes while the other lower side is sunken in. When I sit down my stomach looks the worst. Don't think your results are poor just due to size cause I was a size 10. Now I'm a size 14!!! Because I became extremely depressed with my deformed stomach and couldn't believe I was caught up by some greedy horrible ob-gyn Non board certified plastic surgeon. All my life I have had beautiful body I had only gained weight from having a baby and even with the weight gain you could see my body was pretty nice just needed to workout more instead of running into this Dr. Destruct ful hands.
What's done is done I can only move on so I have already began my weightloss and hopefully further down the line I will be able to have his mistakes corrected. If not its just a life lesson go With your Gut feeling!!
But isn't just crazy how we are like under spell or something? Seriously I don't even like waiting in line but yet we allow this man to play games with or time and patience for something as serious as surgery on our precious ( no matter shape or size) Bodies!!

How long ago did you do your surgery??? I must admit, most of the information I've learned to get your stomach flat quicker, is through complaining and asking questions. You have to STAY on top of everyone and everything.... it's your body!
@lalaNY, I'm sorry you are going through that! Initially I wrote my review the day after surgery when i looked horrible.... but now that the swelling has gone down and I'm working overtime to burn water weight from my belly, it's looking good. I STILL haven't done the massages yet, but i've been wearing a waist trimmer under my garment, and wearing anything that will keep my tummy from hanging! I still have water in there and there is still a little swelling, but my stomach is looking good so far.... I guess all i had to do was wait a little bit. it's still not flat, but I can tell once the water is gone, I'll be good.
@Dorothy9686, I'm glad your becoming happier with your results and I have more confidence in Dr Shahine. I'm Glad you gave him an earful. If I return to his office and he makes me wait more than a 1/2 hour their probably going to have to call the cops on me, for going ballistic on him!!
So I'll keep my distance. The only way ill approach him is with a lawyer.

I had surgery with him over 2 yrs ago. I used to spend no lie Around 500 every two weeks getting massages and wraps, and other treatments. But once I saw the results I shut down mentally nd emotionally. I have different skin tone than you. lipo on people with my skin tone is awesome cause I have lots of elasticity. So basically I can get fat butt skin never hangs. Very very close to no stretch marks type of skin , so dr Shahine has definitely ruined me cause a tummy tuck was never in my cards until he touched me. I would have to get a tummy tuck bc he removed so much from one side that its almost impossible to even out unless my stomach is kind of repositioned. So I have lost weight and the denting has become even worse. This man damaged me in a way that not even my pregnancy did.
But it is good advice to work out and eat healthy e with or withou lipo.
I'm a straight Tara Reid Plastic surgery horror. But oh well.

Damn.... Do you still have water weight in there? There is a BIG difference from a plastic surgeon and an on/gyn.... I knew he was an obgyn prior to me going to him... I liked his work so I tried him out.... I found out that what he's doing isn't illegal.... He's a doctor. Plastic surgery isn't what he specialized in when he went to medical school. At the end of the day, we should've did better research.
No no water weight unfortunately just a lump of fat and a bunch of other lumps and then one whole section with so little fat its un natural. I know he's not doing anything illegal that's why he can keep on. I know there has to be other ob gyn who are practicing plastic surgery, any MD can perform plastic surgery and since it has become such a booming business all types of Drs have started performing plastic surgery.
Well Thank God!! He was trying to convince me to let him perform lipo on my breast but I was like no way!!!! My boobs are Huge and very Glandular. lipo breast reduction is never a suggested surgery for my size. At least I didn't fall for that one. Those are my Girls I would of definitely hurt him!! Lmao.
I'm supposed to reduce my boobies this year and have been doing so much research that I can't make up my mind. I guess I was just scared cause of what happened with dr shahine. But I'm ready so I will probably have them done by the summer and Ill see what happens with this tummy. Cause if my boobs are reduced the one side that's lumpy will be more noticeable. I'm going to see if I can take a pic of my abdomen. It's just not as noticeable in pics.

Oh and I have lost weight and toned a whole lot using a home video system called JNl fusion check it out you might like it. Her story is motivational as well.
@LalaNY, I don't think you should do the breast reduction until you figure out how your stomach can be fixed. Also, if he did such a bad job, why didn't you post about it years ago. When I was unhappy, that's the first thing I did... i let future patients know what they were in for... such as the long wait time. When I was searching for reviews for him, and didn't see ANYTHING solid. well i wish luck. I'll check out the video, too.
I have to get a Breast Reduction the weight of my breast is overwhelming. I'm a 36 GG and they are very dense. So my "Girls" have been big all my life and now it's just too much. Before my kids I was a 32DDD and 122lbs.
Your absolutely right I wish I would of said something sooner. But to be honest I was dealing with the results for myself first, one thing is when you get work done and don't get the results you wanted. Imagine the shock when you find out your body has been ruined. Cause my stomach is disfigured.
On top of that I felt kind of stupid to be honest. Last year I was doing the research for my BR not on real self just yet , just some random click and searching, and came across Dr. Shahine that's when I said no no I have to say something. Especially after reading his reviews which for some reason seemed fake to me. Fast forward to a year later now his name pops up a lot more and that's how I began posting on real self.

yea, i feel you. You are seriously blessed with girls! I guess it's safe to say that this is a learning lesson when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Next time, choose someone who actually specializes in plastics. I'm sorry for what you've been going through and hope it all works out for you. Thank you for sharing your story. Wow! I can DEfINATELY see a difference now. @ first you had me worried! (Lol). My stomach is shaped like urs was. I had it done too. I'm worried cuz its been 2 weeks. My top abs look good. But it seems evrything just fell to the bottom stomach. Its very hard lumpy and sore. Did urs do that in the begining?
Yes it did. Here's what you have to do to prevent your stomach from staying flapped... Because there is water still in your stomach, gravity will weigh your tummy down. When you wear your garment, wear something underneath it that will lift your tummy up. I used a hip shaper that I used to wear under my dresses. Now I use a waist trimmer to help burn water weight. During the day, I keep it tight and suffocated. I'm still seeing results and I look so much better in clothes, but it's still not flat yet. I'm being patient.

First let me say, I like what I am seeing thus far.... in that past 2 weeks I've seen improvements, but it isn't what he said it was and what it was going to be. I was told my belly was FLAT while i was on the operating table... negative. you could see for yourself. I work out now, I am trying to get into a monokini this summer and still look good in it. Like I said... he does FANTASTIC WORK on people who don't really need it (Size 12 and under).

My stomach is lifting more, but it's not flattening yet. I know it takes up to three months to see real results, so I'm being patient.
There is a difference. You don't have the "rolls", you look great but I understand about the lies and expectations. I went for my follow up and called to confirm the trains and it wasn't until I called them that they said he's not coming in until 10pm. My appointment was 8pm. I called at 730 after dropping my son off at the sitters. The staff and the doctor are full of it. If they knew he wasn't coming in why not call the patients and let them know that. I refuse to go back to him now. As unhappy as I am, there's nothing he can do to satisfy me. He will say anything to get you trapped into his lies and take your $. He doesn't give a crap afterwards. If he did he would make sure his patients are seen for their after care. My time is just as important as his time.

Sorry to hear about your experience. My? Is for that amount of money why wouldnt you just go for a tummy tuck. Im much smaller than you and when i wentfor my consult my doc told me, for what my expectations where lipo woundnt cut it. So i did the tt, and im extremly pleased.
A tummy tuck's purpose is to tighten the skin. I didn't have loose skin, I wanted fast removed. My biggest concern was the flap and that's almost gone, so i'm just being patient for now and waiting to see some real results
When you remove fat, the skin can get loose because the skin is covering less area. Think of the process like upholstery. If you remove a lot of a cushion, the fabric will need to be tightened.

I've had 3 consult with other PS and they all give me a sad look, and suggest that the only way they can possible help possibly is with A tummy Tuck!! Something I swear to you that did not need until now , bc of him!!!
The reason he doesn't use general anesthesiologist is probably bc he can't get a responsible dr to work with him. FYI local anesthesia can cause lots of damage when administrated improperly. Lets be serious it's unheard of waiting 8 hours to start surgery on a regular bases. I am so depressed bc of the huge dent in my stomach and would like to warn others. He is taking advantage of the Hispanic community in NY he's not cheap, and could care less about you once you leave. Shame on the people who condone this.
Hey Lala. I'm sorry to hear your experience. I'm not too happy with my surgery either. I have an uneven stomach but its not very noticeable in photos but in person. The best thing we cn do is just share our experience so other women don't make the same mistake that we did. I should have known better waiting all those hours and speaking to another patient in the waiting room.. She was going for her second surgery bc her stomach was lumpy. He doesn't have a anesthesiologist bc he's a greedy man. He's rather keep you awake and Inject lidocain than have to pay someone to knock you out. I'm 100% sure he can't find anyone to out up with his hours regardless. The whole b.s about keeping you awake to better sculpt your body is a joke. Many PS who do knock people out for surgery have awesome results. They have their nurses help turn the patients to their side. I'm glad my story is out there and I have changed many women's decision on choosing him.
Did you tell him how unhappy you were with the uneven stomach. Like i said there was a women who was waiting for her second surgery to correct the unevenness (for free). He will probably tell you a bunch of junk like you didn't eat enough or didn't wear your garment but keep persisting he correct it. I never went back for my follow up visit bc I cannot wait hours for him just to see me for a few minutes. We are under a spell of deciet. All those photos of the women with nice booties. That's all we saw without realizing they were pics right after surgery. Ill never go back to see that man. Not even for my follow up. He doesn't have respect for his patients. If he did. He would keep his appointments. My time is just as important as his. I'm the one who handed him 10 thousand dollors. Feel better hun.
Exactly he has no respect. I complained for like 2 weeks then gave up cause I was so pissed and I got a lot of heat from my husband also. I won't let him touch me again.

Hey, i know you did the fat transfer... how much fat did he put in your bottom. I know that makes a difference too. I have a lot of fat, so I know he would be able to give me a nice round booty. I saw your pictures and you look awesome, but I guess you're like me, close but no cigar
How the fat is treated before the injection makes a huge difference in the longevity of the fat transfer.
