I'm super excited and nervous and stocked and scared - Im feeling a ton of different emotions right now obvi! Lol I have finally made the decision to go forth with jaw reduction surgery aka face contouring aka having a feminine look as oppose to a masculine look. It's something I've struggled with all my life and I have finally decided to do something about it. I'm 24 years old and you would probably say "she's a baby" but regardless of age if you don't like something why not change it if possible. So that's what I'm doing. On Monday 2/1 I have my consultation appt with Dr. Kwan. I have a ton of questions for him hopefully he can answer them as best as possible most importantly make me feel safe and comfortable. I'm also going to post pictures of what my jawline looks like now! Ahhhhhh!!! I honestly cannot wait. I'll update on the consult of course. Xoxo

I most certainly will!!! Consult is tomorrow. Let's see what happens! Thank you!

I know you are anticipating your consult. You have such beautiful bone structure. Don't compromise this. I had this surgery done in Seoul and regret it every day. I've spent thousands of dollars trying to fix the damage. I want you to go in fully informed and to ask good questions. From what you've shown me, you're beautiful and you have to appreciate this.

1.One of the common postoperative problems associated with mandible angle reduction, is that the soft tissues(muscles, fat and skin)once attached to the jaw bone will have to be detached from the jaw bone. This group of detached soft tissues will move forward towards the frontal part of the face, causing SAGGING or jowls.
2. Reducing the jaw angle bones will also take away the support of the soft tissues, so the soft tissues that were once held up will no longer be supported but will move forward, also another factor in contributing to sagging and premature aging.
3. Some patients have had their jaw angles overcut, jaw line cut uneven, broken jaw and even their teeth roots affected. These conditions are not always repairable , leaving patients with lifetime deformities.
4. Should only see craniofacial surgeons who have had 2-3 yrs additional training specialising in facial bones as they will know very well the different techniques to reduce the jaw bone. General plastic surgeons have less training which do not have specialisation in face bones, unless they have the further additional 12 month training in cranial FELLOWSHIP program.
5. Honest doctors have actually said that this surgery should not be done unless it is necessary because the consequences are not worth it. Also, if one is reached forty, they should not do this surgery, loss of bone structure can be disastrous in old age, serious sagging.
Unfortunately many doctors do not inform patients of these risks and consequences. Patients have undergone this surgery, then these doctors will then tell them they need a facelift. ( more money ) . At least 4 people in realself had this surgery, all with SAGGING and premature aging, requiring facelifts or recontructive surgeries.

This is so true. I did really deep research. KOrean women are beautiful without this stupid surgery . The ones that should do it if they really have double jaws , or super long jaws as I seen some Korean people do have................ But please don't do it because you want to fit into what korean men stereotype what the ideal beauty should be. Korean men ideal beauty = fake= lots of plastic surgery and everyone in Korea will all look the same. Stupid idea, but korean men want to make multi billion dollar business buy selling this surgery to world all ove r the world. Fortuately most aren't believing in this stupid surgery.......................... I hope korean women will look into the mirror and say to themselves "I am pretty and korean men cannot tell me otherwise". Why don't more of Korean men doing this stupid surgery??" They want no pain and they think they are perfect the way they are??" Jesus Christ. Most korean women are way better looking than korean men, so who gets the last laugh for being ugly???

Hey guys!!! So after thinking so long and hard about this as well as doing my research I made the decision that I actually am not going to go forth with the jaw reduction surgery. Not only did I become frightened of the fact of something possibly going wrong but there are other options like Botox! I figured this is my face, something people including myself see everyday and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something would have went wrong! At least with the Botox if I don't end up liking my results it'll fade within 6 months. So I met with Dr. Kwan & he explained everything & answered all of my questions. He stated he likes to insert 40 units & prefers to inject all over the masseter muscle as oppose to only the surrounding of the muscle. That alone made me feel great because that only meant he likes to actually target the problem!!! So I made an upcoming appointment for 2/29! Not turning back now! Going forth with the Botox!

You are SAVED!!! Dr Yaremchuck's honest post,“Reduction of the facial skeleton is unwise. It results in an excess of soft tissue which causing sagging. In addition to losing facial definition, it tends to cause premature aging." Congratulations.

Dr. Kenneth Kim doesn't really recommend it, but he doesn't say anything publicly against it either. He is one of the Dream team members but base in Los Angles, Ca. All these women doesn't know what will happen when they age. Korean plastic surgeon even come up with disolveable screws to not be detected under X'ray that some of these women had it done. I think it sounds dumb. Some celebrities got it done and want to deny it, so they are the ones that need to used the dissolveable screws . Famous hong kong Angela Baby had bunch of pre surgery photos online put up by neitzens. She was a model at 15. Very cute, but not gorgeous like now. I compare her photos and I do see the changes in her jaw. Some doctors claimed it is braces that caused her jaw to change and that is not possible!!! Crazy assumption that anyone with any brains will not believe. Also er eyelids change, her nose had work done too. Angela baby have double eyelids born with them, but she had it refined. This is the fault of many men wanting fake beauties............. Most of us aren't born with all these perfect eyes , nose, mouth, and an ideal facial shape............. NOw south korea has the most fake beauties. This makes the few natural beauty left in South korea look average....
I read over 99% of south korean celebritiees 18 to 55 had some form of plastic surgery. I also compared their older photos of some of the already natural beauties before plastic surgery. They twit their eyelids and noses. But many had done way more from bone alternation, eyeids, nose, to skin bleaching. All for these ugly korean men??? No worth it. There are hot korean man here in U.S. and they aren't even as superificial as those ugly typical korean male faces (square faces with too high cheekbones making their faces look flat ). KOrean men need to look at themselves first before saying bad things about t their women. How can they be so shallow making them going through all these painful surgery to alter their faces????? So cold, heartless, and super shallow men of the world.

Who gives a ... What a dr recommends... Some dr say this cuz they don't know how to do the procedure and try to get you to do the ones they know how to do... If this dr Kim is not a maxillofacial surgeon i wouldn't listen much. That's like a nose dr trying to tell you not to get a tummy tuck... That's not their field of expertise.

Personally I think you already have a beautiful, soft feminine jawline, so I agree with the others about not having surgery. Good decision! Maybe this is a dumb question, but I am not familiar with how Botox can be used for the jaw/chin. What is the goal with using Botox in that part of the face?

She should of had the surgery. My jawline is just like hers. I feel like I look like a woman but they keep telling me I look like a man and think I'm actually one. So I'm going through with the surgery a freaking born woman to look like a woman
Botox relax the muscle... Some dr thinks the masculine look is cuz the muscle is too bulky. I think this is bs and the dr way of saying I don't know how to do the surgery but I'll take your money anyways and leave unsatisfied.
