27 years old. Have had really bad edges my whole life. Chalk it up to bad genetics (thanks mom!) and my incessant installations of weaves and braids couldn't have helped matters. Ugh. I first had a transplant in 2013 which was a complete failure unfortunately. It was no one's fault but mine though. Immediately after the 7 day "safety" period what did I do? I went ahead and tossed in a really tight weave in because old habits die hard :(
Fast forward to 2015, I was ready to go through the process again. I stumbled on Dr. Frank perusing Real Self and boy am I glad I did! First off, he's not just some sleazy doc looking to take your money. He almost refused to do the transplant when I explained the first was a failure. After I assured him that I would not be as careless this time around, we were on our way! I had to wait a bit to get my coins together because I'm a working class gal and this stuff costs a pretty penny!
Anyway, July 27th 2016 was the D day. Dr. Frank is perhaps one of the funniest, most charismatic and knowledgeable docs I know! He answered all my questions with ease and I cracked more than a few grins or two when talking to him. I appreciated and needed it as my stomach was in knots on my way to his office. He harvested the follicles from my donor area which was pretty painless (I slept off lol) and then it was up to the technicians to implant those bad boys! Let me tell you, these girls were awesome. They were so nice, kept asking me if I was okay and pretty much let me take over Netflix. Yes, you get to watch Netflix while they're doing the procedure. Gives a whole new meaning to Netflix and chill doesn't it? LOL
Anyway, I was done some 8 hours later or so and the Dr. and his team gave me a lot of instructions on how to care for my grafts. Dr. Frank gave me his personal cell phone number and asked me to let him know if I had any questions or concerns. He called me that same night to make sure I was alright but by then I have slept off. Since then, I have sent him numerous texts with different questions and even called a few times. He answered all my questions and didn't make me feel like I was pestering him or anything.
Anyway, now I'm playing the waiting game. I really hope I have good results since I'm not going to be so stupid this time. As far as this doctor and his team? The best! You won't be disappointed! :)
