UPDATE: 1.5 years out. Couldn't be happier!
WORTH IT$30,000
I can't believe I haven't updated at all since 2 weeks post-surgery but the reason that I haven't been on the site is that I'm busy living my life to the fullest and not even thinking about my face anymore because I couldn't be happier with my results.
My previous post was at two weeks post-surgery. Though I went out earlier to hide the bit of bruising I had, I was able to be completely comfortable going out at about the 1 month mark. It took a few more months for all the numbness to dissipate.
I'm not comfortable sharing updated photos now because my results are so great that I don't want to "out" myself, but I do want to share how amazing I know Dr. Jacono to be. No more bags under my eyes, no more excess skin on my upper lids, no more jowly face or slack-skinned neck. He gave me my looks back. He gave me my confidence back.
I am so grateful for his extraordinary skill at delivering such natural looking results. I really do look like the best version of myself. My eyes look great! My neck and jawline look naturally taut! My face looks like it used to look when I was in my early to mid 30s and at my prime in the looks department.
My results couldn't be better and I'm forever grateful that I had Dr. Jacono as my surgeon.

2 WEEKS POST-SURGERY
So far, so good. All my stitches have been out for about a week. I do still have some bruising under my eyes that I can now cover with concealer and I do still have some swelling on the sides of my face in front of my ears and under my jaw (the submittal area) but each day I notice it gets less and less. I also notice that numbness that feel is slowly going away. My left side is definitely a bit more swollen than my right side (maybe because it's the way I usually turn my head when I'm sleeping (even though I'm still sleeping with 3 pillows)...and though my right eye stopped being over a week ago, my left eye is still a little watery and uncomfortable. I am still on the steroid drops and Refresh Plus drops for that though so hopefully it will work itself out soon. I'm seeing great results with how I look but I am frustrated that this one eye doesn't feel comfortable enough to wear my contact yet. Patience.
I saw Dr. Jacono just a few days ago and he says everything is looking good so far and that everyone does heal at their own pace. He had me begin massaging my lower lids in an upward manner, massaging my upper lid scar lines (which are so minimal anyway) and doing lymphatic massage to help with swelling. He's happy with where I'm at right now but he did say the massage should help with the swelling. I'm scheduled to see him again next week to monitor my progress. Since I live a pretty healthy lifestyle as far as my exercise, eating, sleeping and drinking habits are concerned I thought I'd be a super healer and have minimal bruising and swelling and put this all behind me within a week. Unfortunately, healing from big surgery like this is not one of those mind over matter things and these things do take time...understandably. I'm trying to practice patience but it isn't always easy.
That being said, I'm very happy with what I see in the mirror. Even though my neck and jaw are still somewhat swollen and hard (normal for this stage), there's certainly no slack skin on my neck and I'm happy with the look of my eyes, but Dr. Jacono said they'll change a little bit for the better as the swelling next to them goes down. I'm happy with where things are now but I do think my final results are going to be great. Like most of the women on here, I've been snapping selfies like crazy (just a bit self-absorbed after this!!!) and my face does look like me but me around 15 years ago. Seriously.
Oh...a miracle concealer is Cover/FX Cover Click, a stick cream foundation that's buildable for more coverage if needed. It's really amazing! Also, if you like using color correctors, Make Up For Ever has a 5 Camouflage Cream Palette that has green, lavender and peach so no matter what stage your bruises are at you can dab a little of it on the bruise and then cover with your concealer. I'm not crazy about the 2 shades of concealer in the palette but using the correctors with the Cover FX stick is perfect. Also, always good to add a touch of translucent powder on top to give it staying power.
Until later...

On the other side...Days 1-4
I'm so relieved that my surgery is over. I think the anticipation is almost worse than the actual procedure. Four days ago I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty and Made facelift and everything is progressing very nicely so far. I arrived early the morning of surgery and Dr. Jacono once again went over everything that he was going to do, I had my pre-op pics taken, met the anesthesiologist for my IV sedation (it was a valium cocktail) because I didn't want to be totally out. I don't remember any of the actual procedure but I do remember having my lower legs massaged by a nurse (it might have had something to do with circulation) as the IV was started and being asked what music I'd like to hear. Then, I remember waking up and my husband being there and getting me to my hotel room. He said that I was kind of out of it and mumbling a bit but I knew exactly where I needed to be and gave him a shortcut to get to the hotel room so I wouldn't have to pass the lobby. LOL. Go figure. I remember none of it.
I fell asleep in the room, woke up a few hours later, took my meds and started icing. I was never in pain or too uncomfortable so I haven't needed to take painkillers or even a Tylenol at all. What was uncomfortable was having the head wrap with the drains and I was very happy to have them removed early the next morning. Then back to my hotel room where I slept on and off for the next few days between watching some movies while icing. I definitely had some swelling and bruising but noticed it lessening this morning on Day 4. Though my face isn't bruised I'm bruised under my eyes, under my chin and on my neck but each day it gets less and less. And I'm still a bit swollen on the sides of my face This morning I also got my blepharoplasty stitches out and my eyes feel so much more comfortable. Before surgery I got a new pair of prescription glasses and a new pair of prescription sunglasses because I knew I wouldn't be able to wear my contacts for a bit. I wore the sunglasses today (they're classic RayBans) and because of the size of them I was able to walk the 20 blocks to and from Dr. Jacono's office without anyone noticing a thing! It felt wonderful. Though I know a lot of women say the 4th day is their "what have I done day?" I'm actually feeling a lot better today about the whole thing. With most of the stitches out (there are still some behind my ears), I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I don't want to jinx things but even with the swelling and bruising I can tell the results are going to be even better than I'd hoped for.
I'm heading home in 2 days and will update again then.

Glad to hear you are happy with the results. I am getting my upper eyelids done on the 31st. It’s Halloween and I hope the doctor does not get too creative. You mentioned your contacts. How long after surgery can you start using them again? Also what type of pain medication did your doctor give you. I’m concerned about the pain after the surgery.
Good luck to you! Keep me posted. Is your doctor Jacono too?
I was prescribed a hydrocodone-acidomedophine but I was never in pain and haven't used any. I didn't even need to take the extra-strength Tylenol I picked up before surgery. And you're only getting uppers (I had uppers and lowers) so chances are good you won't be uncomfortable. Regarding wearing my contacts, I'm only 8 days out and wouldn't feel comfortable with them yet as my eyes are still a little swollen and tired at times. I think two weeks is the usual amount of time most people wait but if you're feeling up for it you should ask your doctor. You might be able to wear them sooner. I believe it's also advised that you wear them for shorter amounts of time the first few days you do put them in and then build your way back up.

Thanks for the reply. My doctor is on Long Island. Your doctors sounds very good though
So good to hear all the positives! In 15 days I am having a facelift and lower eye blepharoplasty with fat repositioning. I am excited and extremely nervous. My surgery will be performed under general anesthesia. I think this is what worries me the most. I know I will be in the best of care but it is a bit scary. I think anticipation is probably the worst part of this! I am thankful for all the info I have received on this website.
Thanks X007. Best of luck to you! I agree that the anticipation is probably the worst part but now that I'm on the other side of it I do wish that I was healing faster. I have to keep reminding myself that this was major surgery and I need to give my body the time it needs to heal properly. Every day I do see improvements. Though I'm only at day 9 and I'm getting my last stitches out in 2 days (the ones at my inner ears and behind my ears) I'm looking forward to the 2 week mark when most people feel comfortable socializing again. I get great info. here too...It's very reassuring to know that so many have come before us and most had great outcomes.
I have read some posts where the recovery is so quick and minimal pains and/or discomfort and then some people seem to have a more difficult time with recovery. I hope I am the minimal!
I hope you are too.
How are you doing now? I am 3 days until my facelift and under eye with fat repositioning procedure. I am way nervous. Cannot wait until I am a couple of weeks out. Hope you are healing well!
So far so good. Wish I was one of those that was fully recovered though. Tomorrow it's 3 weeks for me. I still have a little bit of a watery eye and some swelling and a bit bruising but am greatly improved. I see my Dr. again this Wednesday. Best of luck to you...I'll be sending good vibes your way.
Thank you!
