Best Dermatologist in Nyc

Dr.Doyle is a truly fantastic physician, and I wouldn’t go to anybody else in this city for cosmetic dermatology. In my usual obsessive manner, I thoroughly researched about 20 dermatologist before I decided on her. To be fair, I knew her name from my regular dermatologist at Columbia medical center. And since they don’t hire shabby people at Columbia, I could’ve just gone with the recommendation to begin with. But of course, I need to know everything for myself, and I called 20 different offices. Dr. Doyle‘s office was the only one that was completely transparent with pricing, and also had extremely reasonable prices. I’ll also point out that in many offices, they are charging the same amount as Dr. Doyle, but then the physician doesn’t do the procedure. It seems like they often have a nurse or an aesthetician (who doesn’t really even have any medical training). And when their physicians do the procedure, they completely jack up the price. No offense, but if I’m going to have somebody injecting things in my face and doing invasive procedures that could potentially scar me, I want them to have gone to medical school. When I got to their office, I was so distracted by the completely gorgeous decor that I could barely focus on why I was really there-to fix the scarring on my face. Truly, I was obsessed with everything from the designer wallpaper in the bathroom, to the amazing coffee table with an imprint of Manhattan on it. But to get back to the real point, the actual medical experience was also phenomenal. There are some specific things I feel I should point out. First, the support staff there is phenomenal. They are knowledgeable, professional and kind. Second of all, Dr. Doyle really treats your face as a pallet, and herself as a serious artist. She is genuinely interested in giving you the best results possible. While cosmetic dermatology is always going to be a cash business, I could definitely tell that it wasn’t all about the money for her. This was also apparent in terms of the compassion she had when she could see that I was in pain. In the past, I had a cosmetic procedure with a different physician who pretty much just continued to do painful medical procedures on me while I sobbed for an hour and a half due to the unbearable pain. I asked him several times to stop and take give me better pain control, and he wouldn’t. My experience with Dr. Doyle was pretty much the opposite of that. The second she saw me wince in pain, she stopped, and we discussed the best pain control option for my situation. I’m happy to report that what could have been a difficult experience was completely seamless, thanks to her level of empathy. And best of all, I literally looked 10 years younger at the end of the procedure, and it only continues to get better for the next month! At the end of the day, Dr. Doyle is an extremely intelligent and skilled physician, who is compassionate, kind and extremely human. And to top it all off, she is exceptionally humble and has a great personality. Given that you might be sitting in her chair for a couple of hours, all of that tends to make a difference :-)
