I had not planned to write a review or share...

I had not planned to write a review or share pictures here as I'm usually pretty private but your stories and pictures have inspired and helped me so much over the last six months. I felt I had a realistic expectation of possible complications, results, and options. I also had such a fantastic outcome and recovery that I hope I can help others achieve the same!!
I'd always thought about breast augmentation since high school when they never grew. Always joked that I had "mosquito bites" for boobs since I couldn't fill an A cup. I researched online a lot before deciding on consultations with two different top surgeons in NYC. I went to Dr Antell first and discussed the under the fold (inframammary) incision, and then one other surgeon who suggested a different approach, so I opted to revisit Dr Antell to make my final decision. After trying on the sizers I felt comfortable with 250-300cc silicone. We decided that I'd go with 275-300cc and I'd let the doctor decide on the table what looked best for my frame. To be honest, I had some wish pics, but my biggest hope was just to fill a B or a C up - be a full B or C and I wasn't obsessed with exactly what size. I've been so used to never properly fitting into any bras that I wanted to look natural but fuller. I ended up with 300cc Mentor MemoryGel Smooth Round Moderate Plus Profile implants in both right and left breasts. After surgery I was wrapped in Ace bandages for 24 hours, then returned the next day for my follow up. Once they removed the bandages I felt such a relief and I could take deeper breaths.
I was asked to wear an elastic strap around the top of my breasts for the first week and no bra, only took it off to shower. Now I'm cleared to not wear the strap but still no bra for a few weeks so they don't ride up much (I had very little tissue between my original fold and nipple, he had to create a new fold by cutting further down). I feel great!!! Only took narcotic pain meds twice - one for the first night to sleep and one in the middle of the second night. Otherwise I've just been on valium and tylenol. Amazing! Things that really helped me prepare:
-have my mom (a nurse, lucky me) come to stay for six days, arriving the day before surgery
-buy straws, coconut water, turmeric coconut juice, and soft foods I like in advance (kefir, spinach and fresh berries to make smoothies; greek yogurt)
-lay out button up pajamas - a few pairs
-wet wipes for the bathroom
-my U shaped travel pillow (I am a side sleeper normally so was concerned I'd be uncomfortable sleeping upright/slightly reclined) - my mom would adjust my hair the first 24 hours
-I bought the homeopathic arnica remedy recommended by my doc - SinEcch - helps with swelling and bruising - I normally bruise and swell easily but I had barely any swelling and minimal bruising with this surgery so I do think it helped. You start taking it the night before the surgery
-I followed ALL instructions from the doc - I had no alcohol for two weeks before the surgery and plan to not have any for at least another two weeks - anything to reduce inflammation and promote healing!
-eating healthy, working out like I regularly do but not overdoing it
-meditating everyday and setting positive intentions about having a wonderful outcome and knowing that this is the right time and decision for me and my bodyI am SO SO happy with my results and have been smiling from ear to ear. I won't know my final size for a bit but I'm thinking they are about a C.
Happy to answer questions that you have about my journey. :) Best of luck to all of you considering making an investment in yourself.

Dr. Antell is a class act. Truly a gifted surgeon and what I would consider an artist. Tough to find someone with his level of qualifications, even in competitive NYC. His office was welcoming and his staff very friendly. I never felt I was being sold to or convinced of anything - our discussions were to the point, matter of fact, and realistic for my outcome and recovery. He was my first consultation so I had a lot of questions. From the get-go I wanted to visit at least two surgeons to have multiple opinions, and Dr Antell was my first. I felt very confident after my first appointment, but wanted to do my due diligence and get a second consult elsewhere to compare. I wasn't as keen on the second surgeon's recommendation (areola incision), so I opted for a follow-up consultation with Antell to make sure I had all of the information to make my decision. Within minutes of my second consult, I knew he was my guy. Likely one of the most qualified plastic surgeons in the world (just google him!), I knew I was in good hands. I tried on the sizers with Michelle's help, came up with a range I was comfortable with, and then left it up to the expert (Antell) to determine what would look best for my frame. I am beyond THRILLED! Even day-two post-op I was already in love with them and felt they were a part of me immediately. It's a risk making the decision to have an elective surgery, and one worth taking with Antell. Go meet him!
