30% Tca Peel for Under Eye Crepiness

So...I have had this excruciatingly sad journey of trying to fix the wrinkles/bags/crepiness under my eyes for a while now. In my prior post I discuss how I had restylane under my eyes for 9 years, had it dissolved, was mortified by the skin I was left with after, then stupidly had juvederm injected, then ended up having that dissolved too because it turned blue and puffy. Now, a year later I go the Dr Kotlus for a consultation for surgery. He was very nice and helpful, we discussed my options. Surgery or filler would be needed to correct the bags. I was not about to try filler again. I decided to just address the crepiness at this time. He performed a 30% tca peel just under the eyes in the office, it took about 20 minutes, minimal pain. For the next 3-4 days I looked terrible. Red, swollen, skin hanging off. I thought I had made a mistake. Fast forward to a week later and I am so happy, I still have redness and probably some swelling but I am happy with the results so far. I know that some of the wrinkling will come back and I was prepared for not a perfect result. However, the result is better than I expected. I will update my progress in a few weeks.

I just wanted to post a before and after. I still have some redness which looks like a sunburn with some slight dryness and peeling, I do still have some wrinkles when I smile but I think it is definitely an improvement from before. The doctor did say that some wrinkles will come back but the crepiness should stay improved. I am just trying to stay out of any sun and keep applying moisturizer.

You might want to look into an under eye skin pinch. I had it done in September. It’s a very easy procedure. Back to work in a few days. The doc cuts out the excess skin - about 3 mm - that causes the crepey look. I did it and the TCA peel at the same time. It was about $3000 in Ohio. Good luck! I feel your pain. I have the same issues!

That's what I originally wanted but I've been to 3 doctors that said I don't have enough skin and it would pull down my eyelid. The skin only looks like that when I smile. It isn't loose otherwise

I know this sounds really stupid but have you tried evening primrose or rosehip oil? I found those two oils very beneficial for sagging/loose skin under my eyes. Myrrh essential oil is good too when combined with these oils. I tend to make my own lotions from butters (cocoa is the best for maturing skin), oils and essential oils that I use at night time and I have completely corrected the loose/sagging skin problem just with that. Now I stopped the treatments for about 3 months out of sheer laziness and I am experiencing some more setbacks. But I highly recommend using some natural products as well. Oils rejuvenate skin. And oils like castor or tamanu are amazing for acne. But definitely try the top oils I mentioned at the beginning of this response. I am telling you because I care and hope for everyone to receive good results when they are putting time, money and effort into treatments.

It looks like the skin is coming back. Are you happy with your skin pinch results? Did it cause your undereye to droop at all?

Great results! I’ve done a few 30% TCA peels all over my face. Once, I applied under my eyes as well, and the results were phenomenal, for a few days. :( You look great! Let us know if the results seem to last.

So it turns out that the results that I originally had did not last that long. I did get wrinkles back but they are more thicker and not as crepey. I don't know if this is still due to swelling and the old eyes will eventually return. I am still pink under my eyes where the peel was applied. The doctor says that this may take several weeks to go away. Overall, I would do it again but for not as much money. I do think for $1200 I would have liked to see a better result especially when I have seen tca peels for $300 or less. :(
