Botox is fully kicked in now and it is beautiful! Best yet and I went to a new doctor. I have been getting botox injections from the same derm for over a decade and decided to leave her practice-Wow, didn't really expect better results but that's what I got. My brows are perfection. Don't sit on the fence about botox. It can totally illuminate crows feet and maybe even prevent more of those lines from forming.

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

I miss my crows feet. I think some faces are better structured for using botox. Yours looks great. My cheeks droop when I smile now.

Doesn't the burning sensation for weeks scare you?

Glad to hear you're happy with Botox. I always looked 15-20 years younger but had creepy lines around the eyes and a slight 11, then I got Botox, my eyebrows got lifted and everything looked good. After the last time I got it around my eyes, I got sunken eyes suddenly, I never had them even if I didn't sleep for days or lost weight, never used concealor, didn't need it, now I look old, ugly and have a dent on my upper cheek and droopy lids. Sorry, I don't want to be Debbie Downer but Not worth it to me. Good luck.

Does this stuff really wear off? I'm praying so. It's been a little over a month and I hate my hollow smile. I did this thinking it would make me look and feel refreshed like the doctor suggested. Just makes me feel sad

I cannot explain it to you scientifically like other people here do, but what I experienced was that yes, it does wear off in 6 or 9 months but only the suspension of the particular muscle or the "freeze effect", what does not come back is the damaged fatty cells that gave youthful fullness to your orbital area, temples, cheeks because the cells are like murdered by the toxins and do not get replaced, so we look worse afterwards. The muscles sag or wrinkles come back but not the precious fat cells, collagen, elasticin, they get killed forever and skin also suffers and doesn't hold up as well. Botox is poison to our skin and bodies, it was sad to accept the facts but the results on my once plump, youthful face are even sadder. If you go get fillers to plump up, you might also get unlucky and have terrible results and have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to try to fix it, read more in this community about other peoples experiences, it makes me cry. My vanity is killing me, I don't know what to do anymore, except try to accept the aging process or try a procedure but have a lot of money just in case.

How sad. My face is already hollowing, and that was my main issue. Makes me angry that the doctor did not tell me about long term fat loss with Botox, seeing that fat loss was the reason I went to see him.

Thanks for the honest explanation.
Not sure where I will lose fat. I was thinking if fat transfer but now researching , it seems many people suffer from bad effects. Even one honest plastic surgeon I spoke with said he did it for his wife 15 or so years ago and that clump of fat grew larger when she gained weight. Two other plastic surgeons told me that they never heard of that and don't think it is related to the fat transferred but other health issues.

I think I just need to stop focusing on my changing face. It's really this changing with age that gets me. I freaked out during puberty and as a young adult as well.

I need to focus on learning how to play guitar or writing a children's book.

Or else it will all drive me insane.
Because even a procedure that is successful, in time, will fade and sag.

Leopard Orchid, how many times did you have it done before you noticed the ill effects of it?

Hi whatisbeauty, I did it about 4 years about once a year in a conservative manner meaning I would tell the doctor I didn't want the frozen look and still wanted to lift and move my forehead. My areas of concern were the 11 between the eyes, right above my brows for a bit of a lift and around the outer circle of the eyes to fix tiny lines and prevent them from becoming crow's feet. Now the skin crinkles all up in the lower eye/upper cheek area when I smile in multiple horizontal lines. The last time I got it was even less amount, but the doctor went below my eye area and left bruising, that had never happened with others, I would say wthin 2 months I started to notice I looked different, hollow around the eyes and high cheeks flatter which were plump and nice. Now I have very sunken eyes, less cheek volume and all the crinkling, it was very sudden and quick. I take lots of Collagen supplements but see no difference and the dent on the cheek (that wasn't there before) makes me look even older. Every procedure has a risk, even the safest fillers, if they hit an artery and don't repair it within seconds, your face rots, please read stuff in this community first. Take care.

I strongly encourage anyone interest to try botox. It is certainly safer than Tylenol which causes quite a few deaths in the US every year BTW. Botox is temporary. I do not believe it can cause the effects some have described here. I have been getting botox since 2005. For me, and most people, it wears off between 3 and 4 months.

I don't think its as safe as Tylenol. Maybe some are more sensitive. It would be good if they had some sort of reaction test a person can take prior to injection. Just like people are encouraged to check if they are sensitive to hair dye before dying. Some people are. I am happy for you that it agrees with your system so well. If you read up, there are many who suffer complications from it.
