Hello, this is my story of my experience with smart...

hello, this is my story of my experience with smart lipo, might be boring to you or might not but it is helpful...so on december 29th 2009 i had a appointment for a consultation for smartlipo. i seen videos on youtube and other internet sites such as this one and i felt it was for me so i went to see if i was a good candidate ,which i was since i am not badly out of shape but not it the top shape i should be for my age. during the consultation we went over the procedure, side affects, do's & donts and of course what results i was expecting! (now having looked through this site i realize alot of people are unhappy, i believe its 2 factors to that....1 factor is your to big for such a surgery and the doctor you choose, smartlipo is for the couple of pounds that you have ahard time loosing not for 10lbs and up) or soback to story- so after the consultation i went home feeling great wasnt worried about needles or that the metal rod will be stabbing me i didnt care about that i just wanted results!! so not even 2 weeks later (which it goes off the last time u took blood thinners which i did a couple days before the consultation which upset me cause that meant i had to wait 2 weeks!)well in the mean time i had perscriptions my P.S. wanted me to fill and pick up some hibiclens soap to wash the incision area everyday for 3 days leading up to surgery day.well surgery day came i was excited not really nervous at all just alittle anxious to get to the point where i had y 6 pack back lol. so i go into the room to mellow out on the pain killers and relax while they set up the surgery room which took about 1 hour, so after that i used the bathroom and stepped into the room where it would all happen! my p.s. marked me out for the areas that i wanted out which was the flanks, upper and lower abodomen, so then i layed on table and was cleaned and numbed up, nothing bad a little pinch in a few areas on my stomach since this is where she started first, then she had to puncture spots for the metal rod which was 2 in my belt line and one in the upper rim of my belly button(again just a pinch) well then came the numbing meds pumped into my body to swell me up and numb me, i looked like i was 30lbs bigger!!!well the worst part of the front is around the belly is tender and up by my chest was tender but it was all bearable and if it was alittle too much i would just say that hurts and she would stop and re numb area no biggie. so the front took like 3-4 hours. so after the front i laid on my stomach which even after surgery didnt hurt so she could do my flanks so same process , needles, punctures in the belt line and inject numbing fluid, melt fat, extract, had one spot in one side of flank that was touch and took some persuading but she got it, so after the back was done 4/5 of my puncture holes had blake drains stitched in which i would say is worth having in for a couple days so that the fluids that dont come out during surgery dont stay in your body to wait to be absorbed they go into the bottles and not on your bed... i had no spills on anything!! none on clothes or beds thanks to the drains, now the drains looked like i had grenades strapped to my chest like a suicide bomber but noone seen them as i would wear a sweat shirt!loli had a sheet that i recorded the amount of fluid collected from each bottle about 5 times a day from each bottle, each bottle was labeled L flank, R, flank, L abd, R abd, in the first day i drained 426 cc's out the drains combined...could you imagine having that in your bed or worst stuck in your body to be absorbed??just as a reference my girlfriend had her breast done from a cup to full c and that was 360cc's!! so i had more fluid come out than whats in one of her boobs in just one day....couldnt shower for 24 hours after surgery so the day after i showered which was a pain with the drains and cords everywhere but i managed... i usually sleep on my stomach but with bottles there i slept on my back which i got use to quick..RESULTS WERE INSTANT FOR ME AND YOU HAVE TO GET WORST BEFORE YOU GET BETTER! some nights i swell more than others but its not back at all still smaller than i was, also i had pretty much no brusing and im on my 6th day!!! compression garmet doesnt bother me but sometimes i do itch really bad in the treated areas which im sure means im healing, tomorrow will be my 1 week appointment to go back and have a look over by my P.S. ---if i had to say whats the most painful part i have 2, 1. i recommend shaving the area to be worked on as the tape pulling out hair is more painful than the surgery(i did shave before but i guess missed a few spots and boy was i sorry) lol and 2. pulling out the drains wasnt painfull but it was uncomfortable, but it was only 4 drains and took like 3 seconds each...my satisfaction is very good because once im healed completely satisfied.

Updated on Jan 24, 2010:
update****on 1-18-10 i had my 1 week check up and everything looks fine, i look alil distorted in my stomach area., my plastic surgeon says to wear my compression garment tighter so i went home and had a good night. the next day i ran some errands and early after noon i returned home and took a shower which when i took my compression garment off i noticed my skin giggling like jello on my right side, i called my dr and told her i think i have a seroma and set a appointment up for the next day, so on 1-19-10 i went to the clinic and sure enough it was a seroma which she numb the area and extracted the fluid, i believe it was 20-30 cc's! which when i left i was smaller on that side! cool... the next day 1-20-10 under my belly button was swollen more so by where the needle went in to xtract the seroma.  3 days later 1-24-10 swelling is going down alil bit under my belly and still looking thinner than i was so im happy, and also i dont know if its helping yet but ive been having my girl massage me(shes a massage therapist) so i will let everyone know if i feel that really helps or not.
