8 years later and so mad at myself for doing this. If your thinking about doing this...RUN! Its looks good for a few years but then it makes the rest of your hair fall out. The scar in the back cut offs circulation of blood to the rest of your hair. I had good black hair just a widows peak and a little thin in front. But i could ware it flat it was not really noticeable at 26 years old. I got my surgery, it hurt like hell and then almost instantly my thick hair in the back and top got thin and slowly but surly got thin. Im so mad at myself for doing this. No one knows because I still have nice spikey hair but i know and its ruined my life. If your thinking long term do not get surgery. If you want to look good for like 10 years this is for you. I wish every moment of every day that i just kept my hair as is and just delt with it. Now im so scared of the future of what its going to look like with thick hair in front and thin or no hair on top and back. Trust me friends...RUN!!!!!

Welcome to the community, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your hair transplant. Don't be so hard on yourself, have you followed up with a doctor to see if there is a solution for your issue regarding the thinning of your hair in the back?

You were probably talking about a fut transplant, not a FUE .... It makes sense that the big scar line at the back might harm the blood circulation. I believe that FUE technique is way less problematic and doctors may abandon the older FUT technique who to me looks barbaric ( I m not a doctor and just express a personal opinion).

This guy does not know what he is talking about. What happened is that the transplanted hair did not fall out. His remaining natural hair continued its usual course and fell out, leaving him with only the transplanted hair remaining. At the end of the day, without the transplant, he would have been completely bald.

You have to take propecia or finasteride to keep your hair from falling out. I buy the five mg finasteride and break it into four pieces. The one mg is extremely expensive...Mark did a great job on my transplant. I really appreciated his creative input and followed his recommendations.
