I just got my surgery time, 9:30 am on Tuesday August 18th. Excited, nervous, ready to get it done.
A little about me, I am 45 years old and I have a 10 month old daughter, yup 10 months. A late start, but she is the best thing that ever happened to me.
I made the decision to do the surgery after back and forth of yes/no/maybe when I took my daughter to a Little Gym, All the moms were younger and thinner and I thought oh boy.
Then the teacher said everybody to the blow up mat, this is like the bottom of the bouncy house. So the 3 moms and me sat in the middle holding our kid and the mat blew up, I am freaking out! then we had to stand with our kid in our arms and hop off run around the side and then lay on the mat with our kid on our chest and roll with them over and over. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought, I will crush her! I begged off saying, I don't think she will like that, all the time, thinking I need to get it together. Needless to say we didn't sign up for the 12 week class. Plus, I have yet to take a picture of me and my daughter, sad I know, but I just can't! I know I am going to regret not taking any when she is this young, but I will make up for it shortly!
Then and there I said to myself, well crap I can't be the old and FAT mom
So, I called and made the appointment.
I have always been heavy, my highest being 250 and size 24 (I am 5'4") I actually lost that 50 and stayed around 200 for awhile and then I did Jenny and lost 46 pounds and got to a size 6, well it was probably an 8 but I got my butt in those size 6's! I am sure there was some organ crushing going on, but I didn't care. Of course, I put that weight back on! `~sigh~
Then I got pregnant (after 6 years and a lot of fertility drugs!) I was really good, I was so worried about putting on weight, and then I got gestational diabetes and was even more careful about putting on weight. I only put on 28 pounds. I was so proud of myself. Then I lost the weight pretty quick, I was back down to my almost pre pregnancy weight! Then on maternity leave, I didn't work out and put on another 30 pounds and here I am. Ready. Post more soon (sorry for the long post, I just couldn't stop writing)

I forced myself to take my before picture in the bathroom mirror at the hospital the day of the surgery (since I lived out of state, they had me admitted the day before). I look back at that picture and all I can see is the giant tire it looks like I was carrying around my middle. Thank goodness that's gone now! Don't worry, soon you'll look back at your before pictures and marvel at how far you've come!

Good luck keep posting your progress looking forward to seeing you shrink! I'm hoping to have my done before Christmas this year! I know what you mean about having your picture taken I feel the same way.
