This is the only plastic surgery I've ever had (or...
The answers are 1) not at all 2) You can return after 2 days, but since your mouth/lower lip is still a bit numb, I'd recommend waiting 3-4 days. No one will notice you had surgery.
3) I had a size small, though Dr. Antell's choice was a medium or small/medium (i.e. shaved down). Most women get mediums, but I wanted a very natural / modest improvement and Dr. Antell supported my decision.
I would recommend going back to work after 3-4 days - no one will notice.
I had an incision through the inside of my mouth.
I went home without a bandage or anything at all on my face - 2 hrs after the surgery, strangers on the street would never know I'd had surgery! I thought that was pretty cool. iven my stitches were on the inside of my mouth. I had a very minor bruise that showed up Day 2. I walked about 10 blocks for fresh air....
Provider Review
I had a really great experience with Dr. Antell. He answered all my questions, listened to my concerns, and offered guidance in the areas I was indecisive about while still encouraging me to make my own choice. I had an initial in-person consult, and then a (free) phone consult since I ended up having some follow up questions. The staff was extremely helpful in scheduling the phone consult - and Dr. Antell was just as kind/patient as he'd been in person. Both his office administrator (Rosa) and his nurse Annie followed up with me before the surgery to make sure I was all set / had the right prescriptions etc, and also followed up the day after to check in. Annie gave me her personal cell and when I expressed I was having pain the second night (I texted her because it was around 3am) she texted and called back as soon as she woke up to express her sympathy and touch base about how to deal with the pain. I paid a lot for the surgery compared to the national averages, but basically you're paying for the surgeon's experience (Dr. Antell has been doing chin implants for 20+ years) - I think it varies from person to person whether that experience (and peace of mind) is 'worth' the extra $$.
