One year later - Springfield, NJ
I'm providing this info because when I was doing...
Still shrinking
There are some changes that I deal with, but they are more social in nature (like dining with a carb-loving family)... I get cravings for meat... and I sometimes just don’t feel like eating, so I live off my protein shakes for a couple days. I also do get chocolate/sweets cravings- which I give into.
I need to get back into the habit of ensuring that I’m consistently taking my multi-vitamins, as it’s easy to become deficient.
I have absolutely no regrets. I don’t feel like I’m “missing out” on things.
Once again I need to purchase new clothes as I’m finding my size 6 pants are getting a little loose- (HUGE change from this time last year when my size 12s were snug)
I feel my result are exceptional to the norm, but I understand what my body type is and what its potential is.
Overall, this is one of the best decisions I could have made- my self-esteem is back and I’m looking like the person that I am supposed to be.
There are seldom pictures of the “before “ me, as I was too embarrassed to have my photo taken, but now I enjoy getting in the shot ????

All the best and continued success :-)

1 year ago, I made one of the best decisions in my life. One year ago, I started my life over again. One year ago, I underwent a VSG (gastric sleeve surgery), and I have no regrets. People would tell me, “ah, you’re not that big”...but I knew I was big for ME. I know my body and know what’s comfortable for me.... and 215lbs (my highest weight) was VERY uncomfortable for me. It’s so hard to find “before” pictures (especially in a bathing suit), as I really didn’t want to be photographed. I was embarrassed of what I looked like. I feel so much better now, not only physically, but mentally. Being able to wear almost anything I want has been so gratifying. After having my boys, my body chemistry changed, and I really tried to get the weight off in a traditional diet/exercise routine- but it really didn’t work for me (all that muscle that I built up over the years is actually visible now ????). The fact that insurance covered it was a huge factor in my decision to have this procedure done. It took a bit of adjusting as to what I can eat, and what I need to avoid. I have to take my time while eating, and must remember to take my vitamins - but other than that- I’m missing out on NOTHING. It’s been nothing short of miraculous and it’s hard to believe where I started from. #vsgoneyearlater #vsgbeforeandafter #gastricsleeve #beforeandafter #70lbslost #size12to4 #gastricsurgery #bmi40to25 #gastricsleevesuccess
