Provider Review
After interviewing 15 ENT surgeons (in India and the US) and going ahead with two surgeries with two different surgeons, I can unequivocally call Dr. Gambhir the best. Here are few reasons I came to this conclusion. 1. Results - My primary rhinoplasty was in the US by a renowned surgeon who improved my breathing and deviated septum significantly (not completely, but significantly). However, there were multiple after-effects of the surgery. One side of my nose started collapsing and too much was taken out of my nasal bones. Over time, the septum started deviating again too. I kept following up with the surgeon and he was extremely casual about it, continually referencing the improvements he had brought. After waiting for over a year, I interviewed over a dozen ENT surgeons in the NCR area and went ahead with the revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Gambhir. It’s been 6 months since the surgery and my breathing and nose never looked better. Dr. Gambhir fixed all the after effects of the primary surgery and also went beyond the problems I was concerned about. It finally comes down to the eye for detail at the surgeon’s end and Dr. Gambhir certainly has a knack for it. He diagnosed the problem and delivered results way above my expectations. (And I have very high expectations in life.) 2. Empathy - Unlike most other surgeons I met, Dr. Gambhir had a very interesting approach to the consultation. A day before the surgery, Dr. Gambhir made me write all the things that bothered me and very carefully went over those. He even looked at the pre-op pictures to understand the past. He then shared his approach and clearly said that he won’t address each and every problem in the list if that adds to the risks. Going over my concerns so carefully and patiently was a huge thing given even the top ENT surgeons in the US don’t go to such depths. (I've certainly met a few in the US) 3. Effort he puts in - While my primary surgeon estimated 2 hours of revision surgery time to address the post-op problems, Dr. Gambhir spent over 6 hours in the OT. All his staff praises Dr. Gambhir for his patience and his focus in the OT. He didn’t care how much time it took. He just focused on the task in front of him and went home at midnight that night. And the results speak volume about the merits of his patience. No other surgeon would do that. 4. Approach - Since my problem was significant, he had numerous approaches up his sleeve that he could take. Intrusive approach could bring a lot of improvement with multiple risks. A less intrusive approach could bring subtle improvements with lower risks. After interviewing dozen surgeons in India for the revision rhinoplasty, I heard all sorts of approaches and diagnosis, however, Dr. Gambhir’s was the best. He was insightful in pointing out the areas of improvements and practical in suggesting the approach. And the results were great. 5. Communication - Even after the surgery, Dr. Gambhir stayed in touch with me and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Because I was back to the US few weeks after the surgery, he creatively used electronic means to follow up and answer my questions. To conclude, if you’re looking for an honest, extremely skillful surgeon who genuinely cares about his patients, please meet Dr. Gambhir a couple of times while also interviewing other surgeons. You will come to realize why I strongly recommend Dr. Gambhir. If you have any questions around my experience, please let me know and I’ll do my best to respond on time. I am a busy professional so do expect some delays.
