Day 17 - 2 1/2 weeks......Finally made to my last facial to get of the rest of the crud!

Today I went back to the spa for my Vibraderm - (its sanding for the face, didn't hurt but wasn't relaxing at all) It took off lots of lingering dead skin cells and hopefully that will finally relieve the itching problem and now my skin is ready to absorb some good stuff. Next was the hydrofacial designed to hydrate the face and add antioxidants, this part felt really good. Lastly, I had my gentle waves done and sun block put on.
Now, prior to going to the spa, I went ahead and touched up my roots (yay!), I had to be careful not to get dye on my face, wasn't easy, even with Vaseline, the dye still wanted to creep on my face. But it was one of those things that I just couldn't take another day of drab hairline.....Hey, you pay a lot to get your face done, the least you can do is perk up the hairline.....right? well at least for me anyway!
I came home and for the first time, in weeks, I put on eyeliner, mascara and some lip balm. Figured I have a "BIG" reveal...? I did not use any foundation or blush what-so-every, I only have the sunblock from the spa. So, aside from the eye make up and lips, the rest is natural.
Now, I decided to smile in these photo so you could see the more natural me and not the "hey look at my lines face". Since I see my face everyday, I probably don't notice huge differences each day, but I hope you'all out there viewing these photos can see a difference. Thank you for all for all the previous comments, they make my day!!!!

You look like you just fresher! I love it and it'll just get better. That's awesome. Happy for you. I'm on 2nd wake up morning (so really day 3). Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be so far.

Thank you, I do see a fresher face in the mirror, I hope it last ! Day 2 and 3 were my worst days, there was so much swelling, there was times I really questioned what I got myself into, I was very nervous and the amount of swelling, I thought my face was going to pop! Good luck with the following days, time will pass and hopefully you'll look fresher too!

I think you look great. You might consider posting your before and after photos together since the improvement is quite obvious (and easier to see when the photos are next to each other). I am considering same procedure but I am quite anxious about the pain! (More during the procedure as I had s facelift years ago and feel I can deal with post-op). Thank you so much for sharing!

I had Vicodin and two dermol, so it helped make the procedure more tolerable. The first time I had it done, I didn't take the Vicodin and I cried through much of it. This time with the Vicodin, I was able to breath through it and it wasn't half as bad. I only said the "f" word once!! LOL! Good luck if you have it done and post photos!

Yes, and I've had two of them......The results lasted about 6 months but by the end of the year, most of my lines had returned.....huge waste of money.

Day 16 - STILL A LITTLE ITCHING BUT SKIN IS FEELING FIRM!

User Avatar

I'll be honest, I was still taking Benadryl up to yesterday. I did stop it for one night but did not sleep very well. The itching is not severe just annoying and bothersome to have my hair down, any time my hair touches my face I start itching, so I've been wearing it up a lot. Tomorrow I get my vibraderm and hydofacial and that should help to get rids the dry itchy patches that I still have.
In the photo's, I was heading out, so I have my zinc sun block on, this particular block does not have a tint, so it does leave me a little white.
Firmness is the biggest thing I notice (feels nice), lines ehh so so, but I think each day gets better and better? I think more time is needed to assess the totally outcome of those.......3 month for collagen to build! Disregard the gray roots on the side....yuck!

Day 12 - Still pink but skin is starting to feel much better.

I'am still pink but my skin is starting to feel a little more natural and softer, I do have times where I still flake a little (dry patches) but it's just the old skin still over-turning. Since I started back up on the Acyclovir my eyes are slowing getting better, they still itch around the lids some but the redness is improving.
I can now see a big improvement on the my lines and firmness. The fine lines are gone, the deeper ones are much softer and the firmness is amazing. I feel like I've been blown with shrink wrap, everything feels smoother and firm. I'am hoping as time goes by, I'll see more and more improvement in the lines around my mouth. All and all it was worth it.........BUT, I have to say the process is daunting and maybe my situation wouldn't have been so bad, if it had not been for eyes (virus) and all the itching. I have to say that the itching and swelling was by far the worst part of it but you get through it and hopefully you'll end up looking amazing. Soon I'll take a photo with makeup/hair done.

Excellent documentation of this process. Thank you so much. 4 more days until I do mine. I had a car accident when I was a teen and went through the windshield. Have scars all over my face and fine lines around eyes that Dr Waibel in Miami is going to address. She is going to use 3 different laser types. So scared but your story helps ease my mind. Even though the first morning after I may be too freaked out to look in the mirror before my shower.

Thank you so much for taking the time to chronicle your journey. Very informative and helpful. I too am 53 and looking to "spruce" myself up a little as the Botox is not very helpful with the under eye crepiness...You are looking great, keep up the wonderful job on yourself, Sister!!

Thank you, I know what you mean about the botox, it wasn't helping me much anymore. I knew I needed to do something but wasn't quite ready for a facelift (financially), so I opted to go with the CO2. It is a grueling option (but survivable), but far I"am happy with the results and I hope they are long lasting. I"am being more conscience to protect my skin from the sun, I won't leave my house without sunblock protection. I'll be posting an updated photo Friday, after my last facial to get any remaining dead skin off. Thank you again for your comment!
