I have almost no breast tissue of my own and have always wanted a breast augmentation but have been held back by my fear of needles and hospitals.
I have recently had therapy for this fear and have got to the point of being bored of it holding me back, so I have booked the opp for May the 17th 2019 at BeauCare in Brussels.
I chose to go with them because I liked the focus on safety techniques in their web text and in the consultation. I felt the consultation was honest about the pain I will be in and managed my expectations about how natural my result will be considering how flat I am to start with. Plus, as someone who is terrified of hospitals, I liked the fact the BeauCare clinic looked more like a hotel. I think this will help calm me down a great deal.
I really want the look teardrop shaped implants give, but am going with round because they are safer. In terms of size, I am aiming for a B-cup, for which I think will need 240-280cc implants. The surgeon recommended 260 in my consultation.
Reading about the experience of other women on this site had really helped me feel more prepared, and therefore more in control, which helps with my anxiety.
I hope that sharing my experience will help other women who share my fear, by reporting on what techniques helped me.
I am currently using mix of affirmations, hypnosis, breathing techniques and watching videos of people having drips fitted by needle (to make it feel more normal). Has anyone else found anything that helped?
I am also afraid of the anaesthetic - getting sleep paralysis and feeling sick and disoriented. It sounds like how I feel when I wake up from feinting.
So far I have feinted after every injection I have ever had despite feeling calm when I walk in, and no technique I have used has helped much. I am far more afraid of feinting than the needle itself, but the two are too connected in my head to separate.

Recovering post opp
HP1984May 25, 2019
Really sorry it took me a while to write this post.
The opp couldn’t have gone better from my perspective and the results so far exceed all of my expectations. I couldn’t recommend Dr Sara Ulens or BeauCare more!
The surgery building was beautiful and I really felt Dr Ulens listened to and understood what I wanted. We agreed on 260cc moderate cohesive gel sebin implants, and said if they didn’t fit Dr Ulens would go for 240cc’s instead. I decided to go for a bigger size since I wanted to avoid regretting not going bigger. Now I am post-opp they look huge to me, in a good way. I am really happy with the size and look forward to getting used to my new figure.
The staff were all kind and professional throughout the process. So much so that even I felt calm. That said, I did faint whilst in the recovery room, but that is normal for me and I felt the staff dealt with it well.
I didn’t feel any pain when I woke up from surgery and didn’t really feel my pain in the days following. I took a couple of paracetamol for the stiffness, but that was gone by day 4. By day 5 I had stated to get feeling back in my breasts (they were numb before that) and my upper abs recovered completely so I could get out of bed easily.
I have been surprised at how quickly the implants have started to drop and fluff into place (see the difference between the day 5 and day 3 post opp photos).
The only problem with not feeling any pain and getting my flexibility back quickly is that I have to constantly remind myself to be careful and not over do it.

Sorry, I don’t know why my previous photos uploaded like that. I have rotated the 5 days post-opp ones and re-uploaded them.
In my previous post i forgot to say that the IV is really nothing to worry about, even for people like me - who hate needles. It really was fine.
The scar on my chest was there before the opp (see my before photo). Incidentally, does anyone have any advice about getting rid of such a thing?
