botched neck and facelift

$17,000
I need names of the most highly qualified Drs who can fix botched neck and facelift ! It is awful when the Dr and associated institution, in this case Emory Aesthetic Center managers and eventually Emory University Hospital administrators, simply refuse to help a patient harmed and disfigured by a Dr who does and exceptionally bad job and refuses to be accountable , in this case Dr Zubowicz. From the start he has blamed me for his shoddy work. Four Board Certified plastic surgeons agree the job is botched and needs to be redone. Dr Zubowicz and Emory have not been accountable or helpful at all.

I need a revision already after seeing Dr Z for face and neck lift only 4 years ago! It only lasted a few months! Do not waste your time or $$ on this Dr!
ORIGINAL POST

Mutilated, Maimed and Marred

On 12-3-18 i had face lift and neck lift w platysmaplasty by Dr Vincent Zubowicz. From the moment i began waking up my neck was way too tight. For the first month I could barely move my neck. Now 15 months out my neck is a seriously uncomfortable botched job 24 hours a day. In May of 2019 the swelling under my chin, he had traumatized it terribly, had diminished enough to reveal how badly botched the aesthetic result of his work is.

I am harmed; maimed and marred. He tightened the muscles in my neck way too much. The platysma came apart at about 8 months post op but the muscles on the sides of the neck are shortened too much and not the same on the right and left sides. Similarly too much was liposuctioned under my chin in the center with copious skin hanging down from the left jawline and skin though not as much hanging down on the right jawline. This looks awful. Additionally at the top of my throat there are my submandibular glands sticking out like eggs. The look is awful.

I would have been so lucky not to have gone to Dr Zubowicz for face and neck lift. This horror story is only the beginning because after getting nothing from Dr Z; no answers and only mockery and sarcastic, unkind comments I appealed to Emory Aesthetic Center manager for help. Believe me Emory Aesthetic Center does not have your back if your Dr screws up. The Emory University Hospital administrators refuse to be helpful as well. This misfortune has been a long road for me. I was told i had to wait a year before anything could be done to make this better.

I have consulted 4 Board Certified Plastic Surgeons here in Ca. Each one has seen what an awful mess Dr Zubowicz created. 1 of them suggested numerous months of injectables, fillers and fat melters. The other 3 referred me to another Dr for consultation of what they recognize as an unfortunate mess. I don't think anything can be done to make my neck more comfortable. My neck is disabled / ruined now. The docs here referred me to the other doc saying that he is the person that I should consult about surgically make better the aesthetic mess that I am left with. I looked my age before the surgery. Now I look like I got some 4th rate surgery from an illegal operator in the back room of a beauty salon.

I would have given $17,000 not to have chosen Dr Zubowicz and the Emory Aesthetic Center. My experience is that they are cynical nasty people after they mess you up for life. I feel that they should pay for the corrective surgery. Had I gone anywhere else this horror story would not have gone so badly. I trusted Dr Zubowicz and I trusted the Emory brand. How could a professional with 35 years of experience doing this very operation have had such poor judgement?

I almost forgot he also did my lips. For 3 months the left half of my upper lip was huge and the the right half nothing. Now the left half is still slightly bigger. The material he used is outside and below the lip line of the lower lip. Definitely not worth the trauma. Every other Board Certified Plastic Surgeon says the method he used for the lips is outdated precisely because it is so unpredictable and imprecise. The way he did the neck seemingly with a tight cord around the top of the throat from ear to ear is also an outdated method. I thought this guy was the current day Dr John Lewis.. He couldn't shine John Lewis's shoes.

I asked for my patient record. It finally came and across the top This Record Has Been Altered. There is nothing included regarding the complications that I have suffered. I have been waiting on my before and after photos for close to 2 months. They say they are waiting on a USB stick. When I get them I will put them up. Nobody deserves such a bad experience. On aftercare I give them a 0. On quality of the surgery a 0. It is the worst result that I or any of my family or friends has ever seen or heard of. My rating for Dr Zubowicz 0 for a very bad surgery as well as no help after having harmed. For Emory Aesthetic Center I give a 0 for having been absolutely unhelpful. For Emory University Hospital administrator that i appealed to I give a 0.. Going there was great misfortune.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear that it went so badly for you. I hope you can find some support in our community.

thank you for welcoming me My experience has been and is awful . What i need for this community is the name(s) of the top botch fixers for neck lower face and right under chin. Looks like removal of submandibular glands ? at least. One of the Drs out here said "You need a neck specialist." Well I sure do and i have 1 person who 3 of the se Drs out here referred me to. I would like to have at least 2 more highly recommended people to talk to about this. thanks
i need help from the community to find a highly qualified "neck specialist". How do i get help with that ?
Yes i would like to add to my review. I was not sure how much space i had. My face lift and neck lift results by Dr Zubowicz are an embarrassment. I have ongoing neck discomfort which the most highly qualified Physical Therapist in the Bay area says will last at least another year due to the muscles being so inappropriately shortened and tightened. It seems he added fat into the lower portion of my face especially on the left side and brought it exactly into where the corners of the mouth are. This results in horrible lines coming down from the corners of the mouth especially again on the left side. I did not have these lines prior to Dr Zubowicz's work at the Emory Aesthetic Center. The way he added fat into the bottom portion of my face just bleeds into the flats of skin coming down off the jawlines especially on the left side which bleeds into the submandibular glands protruding from my neck like eggs. It is the worst job i have ever seen. These people owe me a revision surgery with a highly qualified person. Obviously i should need a revision surgery but i do because Dr Zubowicz's work at the Emory Aesthetic Center is so so below par. The Drs out here see the unfortunate mess i am left with and have told me i need a "Neck Specialist". My appointment with the man they recommended is put off due to Covid 19 and i am sad for that. Dr Zubowicz was assisted by Dr Drew Metcalf, now in private practice in Buckhead,. Metcalf was in training at that time.
After the surgery with Dr Zubowicz i stayed a night in the suite on site. The next morning as i was awakening my neck was so uncomfortably tight. After a while Dr Zubowicz came in and as he walked towards me he had scissors and said "Now for the unveiling." Then he cut off some bandage. I thought he would cut a bandage off my throat and relieve the tightness. That didn't happen and as he was leaving the room he said to a nurse to his left "i had to get real aggressive with her neck." Well by all accounts he forced my neck into some way that was totally not appropriate and that is how it started for me. I was in horrific pain and unable to move my neck for some time. You can be sure such an outcome is terrifying. This is unheard of. When i was leaving the hospital the nurse said "most people's necks relax in a week yours will take about 3 weeks". This has been an awful tragedy. Where was the judgement of 35 years of surgical experience doing these operations. If only they had been kind and helpful but that was not the way it went. I had to cold call another plastic surgery practice in north Atlanta and speak to a nurse there to get answers and honest reaction to my situation. She has worked a plastic surgery nurse for 25 years. She said "Pain ! There should not be ongoing pain". Dr Zubowicz , the manager at Emory Aesthetic Center who i appealed to i think in week 3 of recovery and and then in May another Emory administrator i appealed and then as the year mark was approaching i appealed to an administrator of Emory hospital and believe me they let you know that they want you to go away. They don't care. Of course i have every letter i have written to them. In the contract they say if something goes wrong they will redo. My neck muscles can surgically be repaired but the sorry aesthetic result must be repaired.. I hope it can be. What i need from the community here is the names of the top top experts to try to make this look better. I have been treated in a way that i would not wish on anyone. I am writing this so that you are informed and can make informed decision. The injuries i have are called IATROGENIC. It means when a Dr harms you but is not legally accountable...harmed but not wronged. I went in for an appointment at 13 months not having been there in person since early February. Dr Z said he wouldn't go the route of injectables to fix my face but i could do the surgery I said you should pay for it and said "Have your lawyer call our lawyer." I called their lawyer 4 times over 2 months and she won't return the call.
any physician who is aware that another physician causes iatrogenic injuries time and again is ethically bound to take action What would it take for Emory's doctors to stop Zubowicz from harming more people? The man has 35 years experience and has done the operation 500 times, according to him, and he injures and disfigures me to the extent that 4 board certified plastic surgeons immediately see that the work he did is a colossal botch. However Dr Zubowicz nor any administrator i have asked for help with Zubowicz has been willing to help. Do not trust in the Emory brand for quality assurance or help of any sort if their doctor ruins your body. The functionality and comfort of neck are ruined for a lifetime. It possible it can be made to look better with more surgery. Dr Zubowicz or Emory need to pick up the tab for consultations with expert doctors, not hacks like Zubowicz who screw simple everyday jobs. And i say that based on what he did to me and his absolute lack of accountability and his constant snarky comments blaming me for his crap work. His work for me looks like crap and my neck is grossly uncomfortable all day everyday. He needs to pay for me to have this redone. I can't even believe how screwed the work is or that for standard surgeries like a neck and facelift he did such a bad job.
I also saw Dr Z for a face and neck lift in 2019. The same thing basically happened to me…. Sagging on left jawline now and sagging neck! I Do Not recommend Dr. Zubowicz!!!
