UPDATE- month 3

I wanted to update my review. THANKFULLY my lopsided smile has corrected itself!!! It took nearly 3 months, but all is well. As far as my neck lift results, I am VERY happy! NO other complications, looks very natural and I'm MORE than pleased with my final results!!!

ORIGINAL POST

Caveat Emptor ...Let the Buyer Beware

I am writing this review in order to inform possible patients.
Don't go in with blind trust. After MANY months of actively researching doctors, I chose Dr. Brian Machida to preform my lower face and neck lift because of ALL the great reviews. However, 6 weeks after my procedure, my smile is MAJORLY Asymmetrical, due to nerve damage or what Dr. Machida calls nerve weakness( all depends if the nerve regenerates or not). Although Dr. Machida was very clear about having realistic expectations, he even showed me by pulling my skin back, he NEVER mentioned that there could be a possibility of NERVE DAMAGE OR NERVE WEAKNESS, which would result in such an OBVIOUS irregularity. If Dr Machida would have informed me of this possibility, I would have chosen wrinkles in my neck over a severely LOPSIDED smile! What’s the use of a neck/face lift if it’s going to leave you MORE SELF CONSCIOUS than before?!I have REPEATEDLY expressed to Dr. Machida’s staff and Dr. Machida ( when I was able to talk to him) how distraught and helpless I feel, but he continues to brush it off as a wait and see, “Give it 2-4 weeks.. “Give it 3 months…”Dr. Machida didn’t even feel the need to physically check the damage after my stitches were removed, he only asked that I send pictures!?! I’ve had to find another doctor to help in my recovery, and I am now receiving electrical stimulation to the damaged nerve. I am very hopeful my nerve will eventually heal, but 6 weeks and counting of such an obvious facial deformity has been and continues to be traumatic...

It's disappointing the Dr. didn't follow through more. He was on my list of possible neck lift Dr.'s (in a few years.) No more. Your review is so important. I'm sorry you went through this and I hope you get to a better place. ♡
Sorry this happened to you. I’ve heard it is a risk of this surgery but is temporary.
Wow this is recent. I do hope things improve for you
Please keep updating your recovery process & thank you for sharing your experience. Its unfortunate you're experiencing this but I truly believe it should resolve once you are fully healed. I'm setting up my face & necklift for next month & I'm going to bring this up at my Pre-op appt.
Try DMSO on your face.
