I am new to this website and I've been looking at it for quite some time now. I wanted to take a few minutes to at least talk about the tummy tuck that I had. First off, a little about myself. I am 39 years old and I have two kids ages 21 and 19. Like most, after having two kids, I had extra loose skin in the abdomen area. I've always wanted a tummy tuck and I've stalked this website reading reviews and educating myself on the procedure. This website has been so helpful. I live in North Carolina and I have a twin sister who also had the procedure as well. It has been great having her as support! Anyway, let me state that prior to having my tummy tuck, I was very active. I worked out daily and ate very healthy. I've always been into fitness and health, but I just wasn't satisfied with the extra skin in my tummy area. So I had my tummy tuck with liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and love handles on 12/12/2014. The procedure was done at Complete Laser Clinic in Nebo, North Carolina. The staff at this place is awesome! I arrived at the clinic way early as it's about a 4 hour drive from where I live. I was immediately greeted by the receptionist who handed me paperwork to complete. Once paperwork was complete, a nurse came out and gave me an ativan (which was perfect) and also antibiotic. My procedure was scheduled for about 1 p.m. and I was on the table at about 1:30 p.m. I was completely AWAKE for the entire procedure. Yes, that's right, completely awake. The doctor, Dr. Hamel, who performed the procedure was absolutely awesome. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and I can honestly say, it was a pleasant experience. Once he numbed me, I felt absolutely nothing but a little bit of pressure. It was not painful at all guys!! It took about 3 hours to do the complete procedure and I talked to the nurse and the doctor the entire time. I watched TV and my mother was also allowed in the procedure room as well. Once the procedure was over, I was given pain medication (hydrocodone) antibiotics, and something to help with sleep. I spent the night in Nebo at a hotel that was less than 8 minutes away from the clinic. The doctor explained how to empty the drain that I was sent home with and gave instructions on how to sleep. The first night, I took the pain medication which made me loopy! Still, I can't say that I endured any real true pain. I would say my pain level was about a 4 the fist night and that was more uncomfortable than pain. The next day I had a follow up appointment with Dr Hamel before I got on the road home. He checked the scar and the drain before I left and gave me a follow up appointment for a week later. I am so pleased with the work that he has done on my tummy!! I couldn't be more excited. Ladies, Dr. Hamel is the best. He did a superb job. I am so happy with my results. I will be posting pics in a few days to go along with this review. Today, I am a week post op and I am completely off pain medication. I have about two more days left on antibiotics. I have no pain at all. I am still very stiff and swollen and I have to walk hunched back...but that's to be expected. I was actually able to stop all pain medication 3 days post op! Guys, I really feel great and I'm so happy with my results. If you are looking for a Doctor that is professional, considerate, caring, and superb, I would recommend Dr. Hamel and Dr. Maki at Complete Laser Clinic in Nebo, NC. Check out the website if you can.
