Sooo late on the update!
WORTH IT$8,000
I can’t believe it has been so long since my last update.
There was a point in July where I have a dramatic decrease in swelling pretty much overnight. I felt like a rockstar! Especially because I had very bad swell at the beginning.
Around that same time I seen my provider for my 3 month post operative appointment. He said that I still looked a bit swollen and that we would wait until my 5 month to take photos. But most importantly I had the clear to start working out... starting slowly.
I’m not sure if I have mentioned on here that I gained quite a bit of weight with my surgery. My body handles it as poorly as it possibly could have, I had been on antibiotics before for an infection, then more for the surgery, I stopped vaping and I stopped birth control. I was a mess. And my biggest issue was that I was eating VERY healthy... still am.
Frustrated and disappointed, has pretty much been my mood for a while now. I thought hat I would be in 7th heaven after fixing my stomach because it consumed my life so much. Not so much. It’s not what I thought.... I was under he impression that my scar would be lower, that my stretch marks would me all the way at the bottom of my stomach and that I would not have a vertical and horizontal incision line!!! Just depressing.
I have been working out 4 days a week, and it really does feel good to get back out there.
With that said over the last couple of weeks I have notice A TON of swelling, all of the time, for no reason! And quite a bit of residual pain that I chalked up to being nerves waking up.
Now I have noticed this horrible balloon look in only my upper abdomen when I completely relax and push just the smallest amount...... and I freaking out! What in the world is that??

Feeling pretty
I am a week away from my one month in this photo and I couldn’t be happier ( well I would definitely be if there was no swelling... but that is unrealistic). I have some welling at the pubic area of my incision but elsewhere it has gone WAY down.
Every day I stride towards normality. Moving around is 100x better and easier and I’m free of scabs- I can start scar treatment.
I do have a lot of numbness and over sensitivity depending on the location, but that is normal. It is frustrating not being able to do the things I normally do, and that really does wear on me but this is more than worth it!
I trimmed two stitches that decided to make their way out of my incision... it’s called spitting.
I did ask my doctor and he gave me permission to do so..... wow was I freaking out. But all turned out perfectly.

You look sooooo great! You are still in heavy swelling territory so it will continue to get better! My swelling journey at your point was two steps forward and one back for another month and then it becomes barely noticeable (unless PMS, sodium bombs, or excessive exercise). Spitting sutures sucks!! Make sure to be gentle with them - I have an underboob spot that has a bumpy scar from digging out a suture knot.

Spitting suture
Over the last few days I have been a little confused as to why it seems like stitches are sticking out of my incision. Apparently it is called spitting, and occurs because while healing the knot is pushed around and finds the incision.
I had no idea that this was a thing.
I also learned that once they see air they will NOT dissolve and they have to be removed by the surgeon or you could be at risk of infection ....
Even though it is relatively common, I’m massively annoyed with this!
I’ve attempted to take pictures but you just can’t see them. There are two locations and they almost look like little scabs when you run your fingers over it you can feel little plastic pointy stitches.
Because I knew what they were I have been cleaning the incision with alcohol whiles and putting antibiotic cream on it whenever I can.
