5 weeks Post Op

It's hard to believe it's been 5 weeks already. I am doing fairly well now. However I still have swelling from the lower leg liposuction. As for my incisions they have healed very well. No glue, no scabs, just raised scars that will flatten with time. I am pleased so far with the results, however, I hope once the swelling goes down it will look even better. The incisions are still numb, but are starting to regain some feeling. Also, it still feels tight, but that too isn't as bad. I know it's all just a matter of time. I go for my fourth post op next Wednesday and plan to ask for my before pictures. I hope to post them soon.

Day 19 Post Op

I've returned to work full time this week. My first day back, I was extremely tired. Here we are mid-week and I am feeling really good. My walking has improved dramatically. My lower legs are really starting to improve as well, as I am starting to get feeling back. Still a tad bruised, but overall they are better. I will say by being more active, with working full time, I do notice some more swelling. That being said, it's all just part of the process. My incisions are doing well. They are starting to lose the scabs and I have noticed the swelling has decreased as they heal. I have one little spot that is a little inflamed, but I think it's just because it's on the underside of my cheek. I assume it's just aggravated because of the location and being in the sitting position. I am really starting to be able to see the dramatic affect of this surgery. I have not wore shorts in probably twenty years, and I truly am excited at the thought of being able to do so this year. I have my third post-op appointment on Monday and can't wait to hear how I am doing.

Day 15 Post Op

I am starting to feel like my old self again. I am able to do almost everything on my own. I do have to still take it easy, but I am able to manage. I go back to work on Monday. I have a desk job, so I plan to prop my feet on a stool. I am wearing compression pants and socks to help with the swelling. As I've said before, I have to remind myself that I just had surgery and have to take my time doing things. My incisions look good and my walking has improved. I had aggressive liposuction on my lower legs, even with the swelling, I am very pleased. It's a pretty intense recovery, but it's something I feel will be worth it when it is all over. Let me add this, it wouldn't have been possible without the love, care, and patience of my husband. So, make sure you have an understanding and patient care giver.
