I am 43 and I have had a slight double chin for as long as I can remember. It's hereditary and I always wanted to fix it. I am so glad I did! The first plastic surgeon I spoke with told me I needed a lower face lift and tons of fillers and I'm just not ready for that. I don't have jowls yet so I thought that was a little extreme at this point. Then I went to Dr. Boggess and he was wonderful. He said he could perform a platysmaplasty (tightening of the muscle under the chin) and some lipo under my chin and along my jawline. I was awake for the procedure (some people thought I was crazy) but I am glad I was and I did fine. It has been a little over 2 months and I am so happy with the results. I still have a tiny amount of swelling and numbness but he said to give it a few more months. I was bruised for maybe a week but it was still cold at the time and I could wear scarves. I have long hair and I am no longer ashamed to wear my hair up in a bun or ponytail! Only wish I had done this sooner!!

I am so sorry but I am just now seeing this post! This was NOT a lifestyle lift. This procedure simply involves tightening the platysmal muscle and some lipo around my jaw line.

I am strongly leaning toward this MD for same procedure, how was he this affordable? It's been hard for me to find this price range. Is it really true, I am same age, almost same story.

I'm so sorry but I am just now seeing this post! He was this affordable bc I was awake during the procedure and no anesthesia was involved (only numbing shots). I have since sent several other people his way and they are thrilled with their results as well. (they had lower face/full face lifts so that is more involved than what I had).

Hi! I'm scheduled for a small chin implant and platysmaplasty in 3 weeks. I'm 37 but don't have much of a chin or neck line. Can you tell me how your neck felt for the first couple weeks. How large is your scar? Can you post pics of it please. I'm nervous about the scar and the recovery part. Was your neck super tight and/or lumpy? Thank you!

My scar is maybe an inch long directly under my chin that is easily covered with make up. I would rather have this small scar than have a double chin. The recovery was not bad at all and I was out and about 4-5 days later wearing a scarf to hide the bruising. My neck was super tight for several months meaning I couldn't lean my head straight back very far but then is loosens over time and is back to normal. I was warned that I might feel some lumps under my neck and that they were normal during the recovery process but I never experienced that.
