I have always had small, thin lips. When I had my wisdom teeth removed, they cut a nerve which made my already-thin-bottom lip even thinner. It also goes down on one side almost like a stroke victim. While this wasn't really noticeable to most people, I noticed it all the time and was embarrassed and very self-conscious about it. When I heard of the implants, I thought, "This is it!" And, I really do love them! Most people do not even realize I have had something done. My lips are still not "full," but there is definitely a difference. I went with the medium size implants. So, if you are wanting a substantial difference, I would go with the large. At this point, I am still considering having a large size put in my bottom lip, but not definitely sure. I am so glad I did it. The recovery time and pain was minimal. Just watch laughing too much....the stitches are the worst part, and I did tear one of mine from laughing too much the day after surgery. Dr. Wendel is absolutely awesome! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Your results are beautiful and natural-looking! Thank you so much for sharing. Did you get the Permalip implants?

Thank you! Everyone says how natural they look! Yes, it is the Permalip implants. Check out my smile photos I just added!

Still doing great! On my last follow-up in October, I had Dr. Wendell take a picture of me smiling, as I didn't have one. I am adding before and after pics of me smiling. While I still don't have what I would consider "full" lips, there is definitely a difference! I did the medium size. Who knows, maybe I will do the large some day; but, I don't know. Dr. Wendell says my lips match my face! lol!

This is a great result! Your lips looks completely natural and I would never have guessed this was implants. So smart of you to not go large right away. Happy for you that this was done so well and you look great!

Your lips look wonderful with a subtle difference. I'm not a big fan of an overly full top lip. Rather, I prefer a fuller bottom lip. I think if you decided to go larger just on the bottom, that would look perfect (and please post pics if you do so!).

Did you feel the implants restricted your smile? I had them done and like everything about this but this one thing. My smile does not look as natural as before.

No, not really. Sometimes if I do not stretch my mouth, it will feel restricted. But once I do my stretches, it feels fine. I try to do them first thing in the morning. I think this may be something I will have to do daily. It is only on my top lip that I feel the restriction some times.

Hmm.. I thought I had responded to this, but I don't see it, so I'll try again. Not really. I have found that if I stretch my lips in the morning, I don't feel the restriction. If I don't, sometimes my upper lip feels tight. Once I stretch my mouth, the tightness goes away. I think the stretches are something I will always have to do; but that's a small price to pay. I would love to have even fuller lips, but I don't know if they would match my facial structure. I am still thinking of going larger on the bottom lips. My doctor doesn't recommend it, but I'm considering it. What do you think? Stay with what I have, go larger on both, or just the bottom?

I think you look great. If you did go larger, I would do both. At this point, your look is natural. I wouldn't want to risk an unnatural look by going larger. How do you stretch your lips?
