Beware of Smile Care Club - Nashville, TN

Update Smile Care Club

$900
I had initial concerns about the practices of Smile Care Club resulting from a failed attempt at taking impressions. My first attempt at obtaining a useful impression was not successful. Smile Care Club did contact me and explained that they are revising their procedures to some extent and for that reason had only sent one size of the impression kit rather than 3. They sent me another kit at no charge and refunded what I had paid for the original kit. I have sent new impressions and received notice a week ago that the impressions were received and a protocol is in process.

I am anxiously awaiting what protocol is offered and the cost. I will continue to update.

Glad to hear the good news and looking forward to seeing your progress photos! Congratulations on the decision to improve your smile!
How's the latest progress?
I had a similar experience. I signed up back in Dec. They sent 6 trays but all were the same size. Too small for me to get a good impression of my upper teeth. They sent me another set of 6(all the same size again) and had me redo both upper and lower again although the lowers were approved the first time. This time they had me send in pics of the impressions before I shipped them back. Of course the uppers didn't come out right again. I told them I needed bigger trays for the uppers so they sent me another set of 6 larger trays and told me to redo both upper and lower again. The large trays were perfect for my uppers. They never charged me any extra above the initial $95 I paid(and they paid for all of the shipping). Another issue I had was with the treatment plan. They send you a 3D animation of what your teeth will look like before, during and after the treatment. It's very important to look at this from every angle possible to make sure the teeth will be straight in the end. When they sent me my 3D animation(which btw you can't view on an iPad or iPhone, only computer) I noticed that one of my upper molars was definitely out of line with the rest of the teeth(more so after the treatment then before) so I asked for a revision which they did and I was happy with. There were a few speed bumps during that process which I won't get into here. Im going to write a full review when I've completed the course. It was a full 2 months between my initial photo assessment and me receiving my aligners. I'm currently on my 7th set of aligners(out of 10) and am very pleased with the progress. I didn't notice a lot of movement during the first few sets though. In fact this 7th set I'm on is the set that's making the most noticeable improvement.
I'm really close to just ceasing relations with Smile Care Club. It's been such a long and draining process. I haven't even gotten my starter trays yet! Good luck on your journey
I understand. I almost gave up also. From the time I initially applied to when I got my starters was almost 2 months. When I asked for a revision on my treatment plan they said they'd work on it and get back to me and 3 weeks went by. I got a little nervous because they didn't return a couple of my emails. Finally someone did and they were right on it. I think there might be some miscommunication within the company. I'm done now with my treatment and when I ordered my retainers they said they would be shipped in a day or 2 and two weeks went by before I contacted them to see what was up and they shipped them the next day. I guess you just have to keep on them. I will say that I'm very happy with my results and am glad I didn't give up at the beginning. It sure was cheaper than going to an orthodontist.
They are not a scam. It's easier and quicker to go to a smile shop

Smile Care Club offers affordable invisalign but...

Smile Care Club offers affordable invisalign but you have to make your own impressions. They originally said they send 6 trays. I was sent 4. They say they send more than one size, I got only one size. I had to pay $149 but was not able to get an impression that is useable. Smells like a scam. I'm not sure how anyone can get a good impression using only the one size they send and two tries. Now they want an additional $49 for a new kit. Yikes! Buyer Beward

Thanks for sharing your honest review with this community. It will be helpful to others weighing decisions about treatment. I hope you find any needed support here.

I did not share the same experience. They said two sizes of trays would be sent (you use the ones that fit your mouth), and that's what I received. They also sent 4 sets of putty material for impressions in case you make a mistake. Once sending the impressions in, they will refund your money if you aren't a candidate or if you decide not to continue with the aligners and treatment they recommend.
Their customer service is superior! Have you tried talking to them? It sounds like a misunderstanding. I hope you work it out. Best of luck with your smile.
I am also a new SmileCareClub customer and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. To be honest, I did have a hard time getting a good impression. They worked with me and were very helpful and even sent more trays to help me out. They have excellent customer service. I passed the impression process and am on my first tray.
That's exactly what happened to me.. They emailed me saying that they wanted an additional $49 for a new kit and I was for certain that my impressions were done correctly. I watched the tutorial on how to do it and I took my time to do it right. I'm really confused by this and I'm afraid that I won't be trying this again.
