Post Op

I'm kinda behind on blog so my apologies. Well, the surgery(which took place 8/3) went without a hitch. After a night of tossing and turning because of not only my nervousness but also my GERD was in full effect. So needless to say that the anesthesia took absolutely NO time to hit me. I checked in to Centennial Hospital for the procedure. The facility was top notch. I even had a hospital gown that attaches to a heater! I was VERY impressed! My friend and 11 yr old was there to see me off to the Operating Room. I was given some ooooohhhhweeee orally and through an IV so that I can be calm. Then the oxygen mask was placed over my mouth. All I remember was discussing Bruno Mars with them...next thing I know I was waking up in the recovery room, chest heavier than they were going into the OR (BOY THAT WAS SOME GOOD STUFF THAT THEY GAVE ME!!!).
After roughly an hour in the recovery room, Dr. Hueneke visited me to check on me. He informed me that he went with the 550cc because they not only looked better with my frame, but also he hanted to make sure that I wouldn't be wasting my money on something that wouldn't show any changes (thumbs up, doc!) He and the nurse discussed the post op do's and dont's (thankfully my friend was there to hear it because that anesthesia sill had me waaaaay in left field). I have to say that even to this day, my chest feels like I've done a million pushups in one shot (without having done them a day in my life). And it also feels as if there is an elephant sitting on my chest. I have to take short breaths. But I was told that it will all subside within the next couple of months. And there has been an increase in my weight (not surprising) so once I'm able to, I will have to hit the gym hard again.
The staff at both Plastic Surgery affiliates and Centennial were awesome! Between them and the anesthesia, I was at ease going under the knife. More posting to come...

Saying good bye to the old....

Well, it's down to the wire. And if I tell you that I'm not nervous, I would be lying. In fact, I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I have been preparing for the procedure. I have been opening and inverting pill bottles for easy access without hurting myself. I also have been getting my meals together. I must say that I am soooo thankful that I will have my 11 year old, my hunny and friends around that will assist me. But I will definitely lose sleep tonight.
