WORTH IT$40
TCA was applied about 6 days ago for undereye wrinkles that have worsened with Trentonin application and derma rolling. Application was done with 35% tca on a a q-tip, 2 passes over area.
It's still red and a little swollen but it's plain to see the fine lines under the main wrinkle are gone.
I used a little stimulin gel once most of outer layer of skin sloughed (just because I had some and figured collagen couldn't hurt!).
I will post another pic as the healing continues.

Great results!! Did you do the perl yourself at home? Or have it done professionally? Thinking of a TCA under eye peel myself.

Peel not perl lol.

Hi. I did it myself at home. I started TCA peels last year, and I've done 4 full face peels. I studied everything I could find on application, looked at the risks carefully and decided this was something I was very confident doing. This was my first time doing a spot treatment under my eyes. I am also very fair skinned, light hair, blue eyes, freckles type complexion

We have similar complexions - I too have done a lot of research. Had Fraxel in 2007 and wasn't impressed - so going to take the TCA plunge. Did you use q tips for full face as well or pads of some sort? Reading gauze pads are best, then read cotton pads best. So confusing....

I use a fan brush to apply to whole face, being very careful it doesn't drip near my eye when doing my forehead. I wash with regular cleanser, degrease with acetone, then start applying. I do the sides of my face first, then nose and forehead. Undereye, crows feet, around mouth because those areas frost first. If I have any uneven frosting, I go back over them. I used to neutralize with baking Soda but found that I get better peels when I allow the tca to neutralize itself Afterwards, I smear a layer of olive oil, followed by aquaphor twice daily.

How long does it take to neutralize itself and how do you know?

TCA burns when I put it on my face- and the frost appears pretty quickly. I knew it was neutralized because the product said so on the label, but also because the stinging/burning stops and the skin goes from frost to looking like a mild sunburn pretty quickly. For me, TCA is very uncomfortable so I’m counting down the seconds until it stops.

What percentage of tca full face peels did you do?? How did they go?

I use 35% tca that has added botanicals but I really doubt the extra ingredients do anything. Full face always turns out fine, but I'm careful when brushing it on not to cause skin to "pull" the wrong direction when it tightens, if that makes sense. I love the product, never had any issues except I look like a monster until it peels.

Thanks for your reply! How many layers of the 35% tca do you do?

I only do one unless an area doesn't frost well, in which case I go over it again. i have found the more peels I do, the faster and stronger the frost is, and I don't need to layer as many areas

I should add that my first full face was 20%, I didn't frost and barely peeled. So it took some fine tuning to figure out what worked for me

Did you see a lot of improvement from the peels?

I would not say a "lot" of improvement. It removed freckles and sun spots very well. It removes very faint lines, but does not do anything for the deeper wrinkles. That being said, most of my wrinkles developed after cancer treatment and I've been put into early menopause which also contributes. There is a temporary improvement in the deeper wrinkles, that goes away after about 2 weeks. I do not believe tca corrects anything but fine lines and sun damage

I want to add, those 2 things do make a difference in appearance, and I love the results but it's not a miracle wrinkle eraser

I meant the dermaroller
User Avatar
April 13, 2017
Do you mean that using the dermaroller incorrectly contributed to the wrinkles worsening?
April 13, 2017
Yes, Plus retin A

Retin A are not for eye area
April 13, 2017
Is not

I agree completely... the wrinkles worsened after about my 3rd day of Trention and the dermarolling made them even worse. The peels have reversed some of the damage, but yeah... I continue to use both, just not on my undereye area. I'm considering having tear trough dermal filler and just continuing my regular eye cream

pic after the skin has healed. Ignore the 2 little lines at the top- those are directly under my lash line, born with those.

How is it now?

A little bit of improvement. I need to repeat it but trying to find the downtime where I can hide during the peel isn't easy

I see improvement. Looks really good. How long was the down time waiting for the peeling?
