I am only about 3 weeks out from my rhinoplasty and midface/neck lift. I still have some swelling and numbness, but I am amazed by how great it looks already. That sounds really conceited, I know, but I literally cannot stop looking at myself! Haha. Anyhow, Dr. Gilpin did a great job. After reading lots of reviews and looking at lots of before/after photos, I went to see Dr. Gilpin for a consultation. They took photos, and he morphed the profile to show me what I might look like after the procedures. He was very patient about answering questions. I live a few hours away, so they gave me some options about where to book a hotel room. The Marriott Franklin is good choice (I needed a to borrow their wheelchair after surgery), and it’s a decent hotel. I booked the surgery and the hotel. You pay the week before surgery (money well spent). The surgery center is in Cool Springs, and is very nice. The nurses were great. Dr. Gilpin and the nurse anesthetist really put my mind at ease. It was a long surgery, but my husband went shopping, and I was none the wiser. After surgery, I was way too wobbly to walk (that’s why you need a wheelchair at the hotel). The next day, Dr. Gilpin came to our hotel room to remove my drains and I think he changed my dressing (I can’t remember because I was pretty out of it). It really wasn’t that painful. It’s more annoying to breath through your mouth, but I only needed pain medication for a couple days. On day 3, I got depressed and had an emotional day. On day 4, I did some housework and felt much better. By 1 week, I felt really great, although lots of swelling still. By 2 weeks, i was ready to go out for lunch and did some shopping. Today (day 18), I look incredible. I took some profile selfies and compared it to the morphed photos....I like my result even more than the morphed photo! Dr. Gilpin is very talented. I’m so happy, I can’t even express it. He gave me the perfect nose for my face. The lift still feels tight, but looks totally natural. The suture lines have already become tiny, and I imagine they will soon disappear completely. Even my husband, who kept saying “you don’t need anything done,” says it looks great! The reasons I would choose Dr. Gilpin to do a facial procedure: 1. He only does facial procedures (not doing boobs all day and then, boom, a nose...which I imagine is pretty intricate). 2. He is really well trained, and he will not leave you with a disaster. I’ve been watching Botched, and I cannot believe some of the bad results out there. 3. He and his office staff are great. Chelsea and the nurse, Jennifer, were very responsive...answered a bunch of my questions via email. They even sent flowers after I was home. Very kind people. 4. The most important reason to select Dr. Gilpin is simply the result. I believe facial plastic surgery should not be taken lightly. I wanted someone with precision who also understood facial aesthetics. You don’t want a teeny tiny artificial looking non-functioning nose. You want a functional nose that looks good on your face. I’m going to return to Dr. Gilpin if I ever want another facial procedure. I could not be any happier, and I cannot wait to see what I look like after all the swelling is gone. I’m so thankful I chose Dr. Gilpin.
