I started my search about a month ago yet I have been thinking about this procedure for over 15 years. I am at home now on STD for the recovery of my prior back problems and it's effect on my body. I was paralyzed from the lower back L5/S1, the nerve and herniation was so huge that it literally cut the nerve (strangled the nerve) so that it caused the nerve to not feel anything; this was called a drop foot. So the doctors assumed it would be about 1-2 years for a complete recovery, meaning no pain and walking stable. Luckily, I got my senses and stabilization together.

Now, before I try to go back to the job market I wanted to do one more thing to seal the deal on this recovery. I have such poor posture and neck, shoulder pain, along with adding more pressure to my spine. Any weight on the spine is really bad for me, especially now. So, with all the push back and doubts about insurance approving my reduction.... BOOM, 2 weeks later, no effort at all, I was approved with Obamacare, Blue Cross Anthem! Also, I have a job that just fell in my lap!! Finally, I have a job within 2 weeks by luck and approved for the reduction.

This is amazing to me and I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I need ADVICE!
I am thinking I could take the job and come back in 6 months and still get approved or maybe the approval will last for a year! ANYBODY?

I can't be so irresponsible, this job would be a perfect fit!

I doubt the approval will last a year , I have anthem aso I'm a triple D also but thr doctors said they won't cover mine that anthem required too much to be removed which I s based on height and weight . So I'm tall and though I'm thin my BSA is higher and make some a 575-628 on the shnur scale deadening on how much I weight it varies .. we have nate through my husband's work they are pretty good but I'm paying for my own BR scheduled the 23rd ..if I were you I'd call anthems 1800 number and have them transfer you to pre determination then ask them how long it is good for . Some put a date and some it's 30 days some may be a year it won't be longer than that . another question to ask is of you put it off will yiu have to go back to a chiropractor and PT because it's possible it has to be within a certain time frame I kmow they require yiu see the chiropractor 3 months or they did for me .. then thr doctor still requested too little weight to be removed saying more will make me a small B which is way too small for my build . I'm tall .. anyway if it were me I'd do it while I could .. maybe yiu can try to talk to the people at the job .. all I know is if you're like me yiu are sick of waiting it would take a LOT for me to put off mine .. well good luck

OK I'm being nosey I'm sorry .. it might be fine looks like he is trained in PS but be careful cause they say any kind of MD can practice plastic surgery and not even be trained to do it . Just be informed. . He has done thr BR probably as a resident surgeon doing his plastic surgery residency .. looks like he just finished it up in 2014 which explains why he isn't board certified yet ..did he tell you whwn he would be certified ? And how did it come up ? Did you ask him or did he just tell you that would mean a lot to me personally. . But here is some info on him. . I'm sure you can call the hospital he did his residency at and get a reference .. good luck Show 1 Remaining Source Education & Training Medical Schools U Of Tx Med Sch At Houston Graduated: 2008 Internship Hospital University of Washington, Seattle Graduated: 2009 Residency Hospital University of Washington, Seattle Graduated: 2014 Undergraduate Schools Texas A&M University / Main Campus Graduated: 2002 Background Check Malpractice No malpractice history found Sanctions No sanction history found Board Actions No board action history found

Thank you and thanks so much for helping us consider this. He wasn't very concerned about his professional help. He plans to get his certification in October. I am not too sure about him mainly now because I think in 6 months, with this job I will have a much higher quality of insurance that will gain me access to better doctors. I wouldn't want to make a quick decision because of insurance. It also sounds like we are the same build, because based on what he was saying was exactly the amount of grams too. I have already lost 8 pounds since the visit (way to go!! ;)) he said 575-628 grams would land me a small D/tight C.... So I am wondering now. I too need a lift as well.

Well anthem BCBS is good insurnce .. I'd find out what kind they offer for sure LOTS of employer based plans exclude breast reduction all together so do your homework .. I 5"11 and 175 but I'm thin built . I am right on my high end of ideal weight for me but I'm just a thin build . Might get another consult just to be sure about the amount removed . I was bentonite getting insurnce to pay and one doctor was going to remove that amount to get insurnce to pay . But I had some consults and w really good doctors told me 628 grams is a mastectomy on me . Yiu can read my review and see pictures of mine on it . But you might have heavier denser breasts . Just be sure you're informed . I'm so thandful I didn't rush in and let insurnce cover me there is no way I'd be happy with that much removed Dr baker said 300-350 the he said of for some reason he ends up taking enough off he will help me get reimbursement from insurnce . Like if the tissue is really heavy or he estimated wrong . Your doctor is young and just starting out I see so it's a good idea to get at least 1 more opinion just to be sure they say kinda the same thing . Don't gotta be ecactly the same . But n if 1 says he can take 628 and one says no way yiu can only take 300 you know it's time to research more get another one even . If one says 628 and one says 590 then you kmow they are probably in agreement and neither is really bad off .. let me know if I can help I Bene at this 3 years now so .. ;) f I n ally getting min in 2.5 weeks

Wow, you are thin if you are 5"11. I am about 5'9 and at 165 I look great! I don't want to be too thin but the stomach finally came, lol. My whole life I haven't had a stomach and now I do.... I know another opinion will be golden and a must and I think I just got excited. He said he has done 50 breast reductions but NO photos? That's a problem for me and was for my husband. What cup were you looking for?

So our BSA is about the same we are the same build you're just a tad shorter than me but 10 pounds lighter which makes up for it . Makes sense .. I hope to be a D or large C after the reduction I think that's what I'll end zip with a 300 gram reduction . Some doctors say 200 grams equal a cup size but I have been reading lots of reviews and before and after and that only seems to be true if yours smaller .. the larger you are it seems the more they need to take to bring you down a cup size . About your doctor not having before and after photos .. this I suspect is because he did the reditions as a resident at a learning hospital. The name of it is listed in thr info I gave you . One site said he was resident there from 08-14 so if that's true he has just zippered his practice . So he hasn't probably done nay reductions in private practice BUT as a resident he would have done them and done them on his own . The way that works is the residents working towards a specialty like plastic surgery do surgeries as long as the real doctor is there at the hospital . They don't even have to be in the OR .. they go through the hand holding stage as an intern and in med school .. I'm sure maybe 1st year resident probably has amother doctor with them . But the bottom line is he probably has done 50 and done most or all of them on his own but doesn t have thr photos because hey weren't done in his new practice .. That being said for him to get established somekne will have to finally trust him and let him do it .. yiu have to decide for yourself if you want that someone to be you .. also I could be wrong about all this but it just seems to be thr situation .. thr good news is he IS trained in plastic surgery which is the reason you want to avoid non board certified doctors to avoid those not trained in the field . What you could do is click on "ask a doctor " explain thr situation make sure they kmow he is trained in PS but not certified yet and all hat stuff that he said 50 but no photos to show you and we n suspect the 50 were while he did his residency .. then ask them what they think .. if you think about it really it might be better to go with him .. he is fresh out and won't be sloppy like some doctors get later on in their practice over confident and sloppy and lose their compassion and desire to have a perfect outcome .. he is trained to do it no doubt and it would be crazy for these teaching hospitals to dump them out into private practice not knowing what they are doing .. he is probably fine but to be safe I would at least get a 2nd opinion especially since we are about the same size only I'm a 38-40 which might have something to do with it .anyway but being we are so close to the same size and 1 doctor said we could take thr 575 but I'd just be kinda small and all thr others said no way it would be a mastectomy. . Just be sure .. of course if he has requested insurnce cover it and said he can remove the 575 then he gets in there and the places marked don't yield that weight I doubt very much he would just keep cutting . They don't do that and insurnce usually pays anyway even though doctors will scare you and say if we don't get enough you'll get a huge bill .. I had a nice doctor tell me insurnce has not started denying payment if enough weight wasn't taken . Long as it's not ridiculous like 200 pr 300 grams when he estimated 600 . Thr reason is there is no way to kmow exactly how much they can take my good common sense told me that before but I still worried myself about it till a nice lady doctor told me otherwise so if his estimate is wrong I wouldn't worry .. you might be seeing an up and coming plastic surgery genius . Who knows .. but in reality if he is well trusted in thr field you're probably ok I just flipped when I saw that he wasn't board certified when I researched it I found out he was rationed but just finished residency so that's the reason why .. it's probably fine but do get another option at least and maybe ask our awesome doctors here on real self what they think about it
