Results did not last - my neck looked significantly worse

ORIGINAL POST

Don’t Do It

I received this procedure from the inventor Dr Mueller in LA. He was pleasant & made me feel comfortable (his staff is another story). Was told I was a great candidate. Recovery was painful and longer than expected. Was swollen for 2-3 weeks, looked good for about 6 months, then everything went downhill. Results DID NOT LAST. My neck looked significantly worse, extreme skin sagging under my chin (maybe from the Facetite which was also used). Pain under my left ear where the MyEllevate was attached, every time I opened my mouth wide to eat or yawn. I would never recommend this procedure and would advise you to do the real thing and get a neck lift since the recovery time in my experience was just as long and painful. So relieved I’ve finally had this stupid procedure taken out and have had my neck properly fixed by a different doctor.

I feel the same way. It looked good for a couple months and then it fell. Right under the chin is horrible and I didn't have the problem there before. I was concerned about my neck. Now I hate my profile.
How were the sutures taken out?
Surgery. I had a neck lift done earlier this year. My surgeon said he had a difficult time with all of the damage caused by this procedure.
Would you mind sharing where you went to get it removed and corrected?

What is the name of the surgeon who was able to remove it? I also have had a horrendous time with this procedure. From Day 1 the suture felt too tight. Long story but I was hospitalized twice and it’s still affecting my ability to sleep (feels like choking sensation 6 months out), and my work (as I have to look down and can feel it constrict). My original surgeon (not the inventor referenced here) has only suggested snipping and I do not feel that will work at all. I fear it may have migrated as it is worsening.
I now need a neck lift as it’s made my neck look significantly worse. It’s just pulled the laxity higher. The recovery was horrendous, nothing like the 2 weeks of minimal discomfort and recovery that it’s sold as. My surgeon said she could remove the sutures but now tells me she can only partially remove them. She will snip where it’s anchored behind the ears, remove what she can get at and just let it loosen. I can’t see that achieving a great look. I’m 6 weeks in and I am very uncomfortable which I can’t see ever subsiding. I still have numbness which is made worse when I’m putting my head down, I can’t avoid in work. I’m really regretting this procedure but can’t see a way to fix it.
Were you able to get the sutures out? I have same issue and I’m 6 weeks in.
Long story cut short. After a very horrendous 18months. I did have the suture removed, it was a 2 hour procedure with local anaesthetic as the surgeon initially couldn’t find it to remove it. I then had a neck lift where skin was tightened and removed from behind the ears, thus didn’t didn’t correct the disfigurement that MyEllevate had caused, I then went on to have a corset platysmaplasty necklift with more skin removal from behind the ears. All done under local as I wasn’t willing to have general.

I live in the UK and had all procedures here. I’m assuming you are in USA.
