I got the CO2 laser (cortex) done today, i got levulan with vbeam done prior to this like a month ago since i still deal with acne. The procedure started with arriving an hour early to get numbing cream. Then the laser, i was really nervous because all other reviews and places i read that they do numbing cream along with shots and also pain killers, but here they only offered numbing cream. I didn't have a driver neither so i dont think i could have requested pain killers. When the procedure started it was not bad at all, like i could feel it somewhat but not very painful, they also had a tube that would blow out cold air as the laser was being performed. I could describe the feeling like getting a tattoo but on your face and with longer needles Lol, but since there was some numbing it was very tolerable. He did like several passes all over my face i think maybe 3 times going on a higher intensity each time. After it was done, my face just felt really hot and it felt pulsating. they then put aquaphor and i got wrapped up like a mummy. i did have bleeding and still do but I guess thats normal, and i dont feel any pain, i just feel like i have a chemical peel solution on. we'll see how it goes! Really looking forward to seeing results in some weeks or maybe months :)

Wow! How are you today? I was a pioneer in 1998 getting CO2 laser; I am sure it's improved now, but I was basically anesthetized into Siberia. I follow all the younger women getting lasered here on RealSelf, now. Seems less traumatic to most of you now, than it was for me. At some point I'll post the old "antique" photos for everyone else's curiosity. Sadly, (Gladly?) I was 48 then ... and am turning 65 soon. Any lasting results are not so visible. I will be getting a "pull-up" (and I don't mean a diaper!) in the next few years. We do not succumb to aging very gracefully, once we get that "BEE IN OUR BONNET." Good luck to all of us, each and every one.

Oh your face looks painful - but it really doesn't hurt at all? Does it still feel hot? Have you been icing it? I have acne scars and am interested in this procedure also. Thanks for sharing.

Hang in there because the results take more time than you'd wish! Let us know how it goes week by week. I had VERY EARLY laser done 1998 (were you born yet?) I was 48! A difficult recovery, but now at age 64, my skin IS smoother and younger than others my age, but ... It's always something as we progress through aging!!! Be well, dear one!

Thankyou for sharing your experience. It has been a week since your procedure. How are you finding the results? I am going to get a mixtoaser treatment this Friday and am trying to gather as much Information as possible :)

I think the results take a while, once i peeled i still saw my scars there so i do really hope with time the redness and scarring starts fading

looking good! Hang in there - it will feel really tight and abit itchy/aggravated, but in another 2 days or so, it will start to go and your new pink skin will be revealed! I had co2 fractional laser and vbeam on 29th jan (Thursday) and by the Tuesday, I was all peeled and could finally see some of my acne scars had lessened :). I have my next treatment booked for 31st March and I can't wait. Vbeam is great for acne too isn't it?! Make sure you use a good sunscreen for your new skin....helps avoid hyperpigmentation...good luck!
