I had hooded eyes. My vision was somewhat obstructed. My eye lids were constantly twitching from the weight of the lid. I love the after affects. My eye sight is better because my lids are tighter. I am totally satisfied with my outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend that anyone with this issue have the surgery.

What procedures did you have?

Cathey underwent an upper lid blepharoplasty with conservative removal of fat pads.

Well the area under Cathey's eye (tear trough) looks very filled in with no line of demarcation as is obvious in the before. Any idea what "fixed" that? I am interested in finding a PS in Nashville who can do uppers under oral sedation with local anesthetic. What type of sedation was used for the upper eye surgery. thanks, grace

I would love to take credit for 'fixing' Cathey's tear trough. However, I didn't do anything yet to that anatomy. Though both her before and after photos are with no flash, the before appears to have been taken inside where shawdowing occurred. The other photo was taken in natural light in her car. The more light, the more washed out the demarcation lines. We are planning a fractionated laser to her face in the next month or so, and will focus on her crow's feet and lower lids. If tightening does not provide all the needed correction, then Juvederm to the tear trough might be employed. Her lower lids were borderline on needing surgical treatment, and I always try to do the most minimally invasive treatment possible. As far as your upper lids are concerned, I can do those under local with oral sedation. I have a good relationship with a great surgery center that allows me to perform the case in an accredited surgery center with grade A assistance/equipment while avoiding the downtime and cost of anesthesia. Cathey's eyes were done under general which is actually in my opinion safer than IV sedation as the airway is protected, but oral sedation would have been an option.

In the Before picture, the poster is not wearing makeup and in the After picture she is wearing makeup. This seems to be the reason why one does not see a line of demarcation.

Grace your profile says you are in Spartanburg? Dr David Harley is very good and is in Ashville, NC, about an hour away. I think he uses local. I have talked to his office and was quite impressed, just too far for me...

In the past yr I have seen only 1 Dr Harley eye lift result posted on RS. Have you visited him for a consult to see how good his results are. The one posted on RS was really not a good outcome in my opinion. Each eye was an acceptable result taken by itself. The problem was that the 2 eyes were not at all alike and didn't seem like they should be on the same face.

Who wrote the review listed above and why is the Dr fielding the questions being directed at Cathey?

Dear Grace,
The pictures that I posted were just pictures that I had taken. They were not in the same light our even in the same place. Nothing was done to my lower lids. My surgery was performed under general anesthesia. You seem to know a lot about the technical procedures that I do not know. Therefore I asked Dr. Webb to response because he could do a much better job than me as far as the information about the procedure was concerned. If you are considering this procedure you should have the best information available. What ever anesthesia you want should be discussed with your doctor. You really should schedule a consultation with the surgeon of your choice too get the info. Personally I wanted to be asleep!! The results are what I am thrilled with! I hope that you get the same great results!

My first question to you was "what procedures did you have?". That didn't seem too technical so I was surprised to see the doctor answer me. After that intitial ask and answer seemed not to involve you....I wondered if you were even involved in the review. Understandable, I think, since doctors usually are too busy to be corresponding and almost never insert themselves.

Grace it seems obvious that I had eyelid surgery from the before and after pictures and the fact that I had hooded eyes. In your second response you were talking about the line of demarcation which suggest that you have some knowledge about the procedure. After reviewing your 500+ postings I wonder what your motives are. There were many doctor responses. Therefore I am wondering why you found it so odd that my doctor would respond. You have far more time to police real self than I do. I don't plan to waste anymore of my time responding to you. This was supposed to be a pleasant experience not one that I should have to justify to you why my doctor responded. I suggest that you get off of real self and get a real life. Best wishes to you.
