2nd letdown
$9,000
I called Dr Tholen’s office to see if I could possibly get in for my BA in September. Debra said yes and we set a date. When I made my pre-op appointment with my GP, the earliest they could get me in was a week and a half out. I called Debra back and she pushed my surgery back to September 8. I received a call from Debra about a week before my scheduled surgery. I asked if everything was good to go and she said yes, but asked if I was willing to push my surgery back again to the 10th. Of course I agreed. The Friday before ( September 4th, 3:00 pm )I received a call from their office telling me they hadn’t received my labs yet. Seeing how it was late, I wasn’t able to call my GP until Tuesday am ( Monday was Labor Day). My GP’s office told me they would send it right over. I got a call at 3:15 or so that afternoon. I was told I needed my pulmonologist to sign off on my surgery. I don’t have one. I do have COPD. I have had a bilateral hernia repair, a prostatectomy, and two total knee replacements within the last four years. Nobody else had an issue with my COPD. I think Dr Tholen is a great PS, however I was not willing to jump through any more hoops. When I told my GP about my surgery being canceled, she was surprised. If Dr Tholen didn’t feel comfortable working on me, that’s his option. As long as I had to get another pre-op anyway, I chose a different surgeon. I will say the people in the office are awesome. Debra is a gem. Nothing against MPS, it was just time for me to find another PS. And I did. 6 days PO

Surgery scheduled
I had an opening in my schedule and called Minneapolis Plastic Surgery to see if I could get in now. I was originally supposed to have my surgery last March, but Covid stopped that. When they finally opened back up, the only time I had available was the beginning of December. Now I was scheduled for 9/1, but I couldn’t get my pre-surgery in time. So they dropped it back 1 week to 9/8. The anticipation is nearly doing me in. I’ve been thing and obsessing about this for over 50 years. It is extremely difficult to wait much longer. So close I can almost taste it, but far enough that I’m getting anxious. I will post before picks later, as I was very interested in other’s before and after pictures.

Starting a never ending journey
Ever since I can remember, I have known I wasn't your typical male. My first memory of this is when I was approximately 8 years old. I am now mid sixties. I am retired, divorced, and the 2 kids are self sufficient. I don't know if I will ever fully transition, as I will only do so after many costly procedures. My BA is my first step. I look at many of the before pictures on this site and am very envious of them. The afters are absolutely beautiful. I definitely want feminine breasts. My surgery is scheduled for March 31, 2020

Unfortunately, I did no have my surgery. I bought a recliner , I had my pre-surgery physical, all ready to go. Then the beer flu hit. I was contacted by Dr. Tholen's office and told all surgeries were put on hold. The next available time for me is the beginning of December. I was two weeks away from real breasts, and now I have to wait another 7 1/2 months. The waiting is very difficult. I am not a have camper.

Wow....Congrats on your transition and surgery. I also did it at age 60. Thanks for your story and best wishes for the future. So many things will change for you now as I have learned in almost 2 years PO. Can you share some details like incision type, saline/silicone and size choice? I ask because thats the big questions so many contemplating MTF surgery ask. I went with 360CC saline under the muscle, armpit incision. And has been great. Thanks for sharing because our stories will help all that follow in our footprints.....
