Back to the ER
First off I want to thank the person who appreciated me sharing. I'm writing this after being discharged from the hospitalhospital AGAIN. I awoke to major pain and more bloody puss soaked clothes. I went to the er, spent the day there doped up and got ANOTHER full iv antibiotic treatment. My abcess became more active and I had more abdominal fluid built up. I was lucky enough to not have to be admitted AGAIN but I'm now back home on more antibiotics and pain meds. In case I wasn't clear in my original post.... this surgery is NOT WORTH IT.

On valentines day 2007 I had a RNY gastric bypass. Since then I have lost close to 200lbs. My grandfather decided to help me out by paying for my skin removal surgery which I had 3/21/2016. Having the skin removal surgery was one of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made. I had the operation and was sent home with strong pain medication.
Two days after surgery I ended up going to the hospital because I was in unbearable pain. I was given dilaudid to piggy back with the percocet that I was taking. I was sent home where I returned to resting and high as a kite because of the pain medications.
That night I awoke crying, shaking, trembling. When I finally mustered the courage to get out of bed I looked down and saw that I soaked in blood. My drainage tubes were "dislodged" and were bleeding. My mother rushed me to the hospital where I was taken right in to the trauma room and the doctors went to work. They did a CT scan and turns out that I had developed a hematoma and was also bleeding along my incision's. I was admitted to the hospital and had another operation to clean up my bleeders.
Two weeks after that I returned to the doctor again because I was in unbearable pain. Again I was given stronger pain medication and returned home.
Exactly one month, to the day of my procedure, I awoke covered in this liquid, gooey stinky liquid. Turns out that my "DOG EAR" had suddenly ruptured. I was bleeding and had puss and other nasty, smelly goo coming from my incision. I called the 24 hour nurse line at Kaiser and was advised by the emergency room doctor, who I spoke with, to wait until the plastic surgery department was open and call them. I did and was immediately given an appointment to come in and be seen.
I show up to my appointment and the PA that I saw looked at it, took a culture of my drainage to take to the lab. She also ordered me to have a CT scan. I have my scan and return to the doctors office. Before I sit down the PA comes out tells me to throw away my coffee, asks me when the last time I ate was and if I knew my blood type.
I ended up getting admitted to the hospital and was informed that I had developed an abscess in my "Dog Ear" and I had a massive hematoma on another part of my scars. My doctors had to preform ANOTHER surgery to clean my abscess and insert a drainage tube for a massive fluid buildup.
I ended up spending the last three days in the hospital, doped up and going through a massive amounts IV antibiotics , in pain and uncomfortable as all heck.
Bottom line; It's NOT WORTH it. I highly advise anyone and everyone who is considering this procedure to avoid it. These types of elective surgery are NOT worth the cost that come with it.
