I am writing this review with frozen water bottles...

I am writing this review with frozen water bottles stuck up under my arms. I am 24 years old and I had my 1st Miradry treatment today in (obviously) the underarm area. Ive been suffering with Hyhi for about 10 years now. Only in the armpit area. I have suspected I have it on my back and groin too, but have only ever been treated in the armpit area. After quickly exhausting the prescription lotion/deodorants/whathaveyou back at age 15, (WHO can sleep with itchy liquid in their armpits and armpits wrapped up in saran wrap??), I had my first botox injections at 15. I had 15 units per armpit (thats 15 injections per arm), and it took AMAZINGLY. I was so happy... for about 6 months. Then the sweating came back. It was gradual, but slowly lost the ability to wear anything but black again. I was told by my derm that botox works even better the more you get it done. So I got more botox, with an increase in units... i got 20 units per arm this time. And this time it hurt like crazy (may have been the time of the month).. but the first time it barely hurt at all. Again, I had another 7ish months of bliss.. wearing anything my teenage heart wanted, and the sweating returned. Discouraged, I waited about another half a year before i decided I would do botox again. The third time did not take at all. Discouraged, I just surrendered to wearing black and white only. Thank god color blocking came into style.. I could find clothes that were black on the arms/armpits with color elsewhere. And thank God for leather jackets.

*****I MUST URGE YOU.. if you suffer from Hyhi and you are thinking of Miradry... TRY BOTOX FIRST. There is zero recovery time, and I have heard of people having years of being sweat free before needing a "touch up".. YOU might be one of those people. You never know. PLUS you get a little experience under your belt with needles/minor pain in the armpit area. It will help with the shock/major major swelling/weird experience of getting Miradry done and the subsequent recovery. Plus.. its cheaper. My insurance covered the actual botox units, just not the procedure. I was actually approved for more botox than I needed... And i cant remember 100% but I think one of the times we were able to reuse some before it expired.****

Anyway.. years and years go by until I stumbled upon a Youtube video about Miradry. Four days later...I was laying on the table today having it done. I did not find the injections very painful. As i said.. this was not my first rodeo with injections in my armpits. I knew what to expect which I think made it hurt less. The laser part was completely pain free. ONE of the spots got a little warm, but I just grit my teeth for the 5 seconds that it was on there.

Right now.. approx 12 hours post procedure I have the typical tennis ball sized swelling. The swelling really began to emerge around hour 6. Can not move my arms much, they feel restricted. Cant put my arms by my sides, etc. Pictures almost don't do it justice.. I just look like some jacked meathead guy that cant put his arms down. There is pain starting now at hour 12...putting a shirt on is hard. I have been taking advil. I do have pictures though and I will come back to edit and post them.
