I am almost at my two month mark. I have lost about 15 pounds. After my 4th week, it was difficult for me to tell I had the balloon inside. I have noticed it is harder for me to eat salads, broccoli and other harder digestive foods. Orbera slows your stomach emptying process down just a little. Orbera has to be used as a TOOL in your weight loss journey. You have to exercise and eat healthy because it does come out in 6 months. My exercise consists of crossfit with walking /running. My calorie entake is around 1,0000-1,3000 calories a day. Those calories are quality foods like proteins and vegetables. I do eat a small amount of carbs. Fitness pal app is a great tool I use to help me track my food entake. I also have a fitbit to monitor my steps and sleep patterns. I would recommend Orbera!

Hi there, and welcome! Thank you for choosing to share your experience with us. That's a great weight loss to get you started! Well done :) You sound as though you're really motivated. Have you found it hard to change your eating habits?

Pryor to the orbera, I had started eating healthier. One of my problems before orbera was portion control. The orbera has helped tremendously with portion control. I am still learning how much I can eat.

Can you feel the balloon?

I was never able to feel it with my hands. In the beginning I could tell something was different in my stomach. The doctor gave me medicine at the beginning for cramping. Once I took that , it was fine. After about 5 weeks I could feel nothing.

I can't wait til I can feel nothing!!! I have had mine since Monday and I have never been more sick in my life!! Couldn't even keep ice chips down til Wednesday night. Vomited every two hours or so from Monday-Wednesday morning. Terrible cramps and nausea since then, even with the meds. Today is Saturday and I am finally feeling a little bit better. It has been ONE ROUGH WEEK. Please tell me this will not linger. I am READY to feel better!!

Thank you! Went to doc Thursday and they upped my Prilosec. Still kinda feel like I'm recovering from a stomach bug but the weight is coming off and that's really all that matters, I suppose.

Keep us posted on your status please, not much to read out there about the balloon. Wish you all the best!!

At first follow up, I'm down 12 pounds. Got the flu in the middle of it all so I would consider my weight loss atypical. Nausea persists and I'm not hungry...have to force myself to eat and drink, only getting one solid meal in a day. I just do protein drinks for dinner, making sure not to eat or drink anything several hours before bedtime to minimize reflux/heartburn.

4 Months In

I am very happy with Orbera. I am in my 4th month and have lost 21 pounds. I have lost slow compared to others, but I would rather it be slow. One and a half years previous to Orbera I had lost 40 pounds. I did it though exercise and better eating habits. I hit a wall at 40 pounds and could not get past the 40 pound mark for at least 10 months. Orbera was the tool that took me over that 40 pound mark. I am currently losing about 1.5 pounds every week and sometimes every other week. I ran my first 5K at Disney World in February (see profile picture).

Hi - could you update us on your progress? I'm having the Orbera placed on 8/29, but I'm most interested in results/keeping weight off after having the balloon is removed. Thanks!
