Morpheus 8 There was no improvement to my face/neck laxity at all

ORIGINAL POST

beware of possible morpheus results - track marks!!

I had a three Morpheus treatments to my mid-face and neck in the first quarter 2022. After allowing for healing following the third treatment I was alarmed at the track marks that remained. Provider was perplexed by the reaction and treated me with BBL.

I think we saw a modest improvement in the marks intensity of color after that first BBL. She would ultimately end up giving me a total of five BBL treatments in an effort to resolve the tracks but there wasn’t continued improvement and each treatment was slightly painful. I asked her to contact the manufacturer for help. Meanwhile I searched the internet and RealSelf. Very little could be found by me but one comment was that marks should fade in a year and to use use Retin-A while another was that tracks are caused by provider error during the treatment.

Well, it’s been a year since the Morpheus treatments and the subsequent BBL treatments. I have used Retin-A long term, a topical steroid for several weeks which helped flatten the bumps, and a topical anti-inflammatory which did not help. As you can see in the attached recent picture I’m still living with the track marks. I wear a lot of concealer even if I don’t leave home. I don’t even want my husband to be looking at the marks. I am saddened every day when I look in the mirror. And to make it all worse, there was no improvement to my face/neck laxity at all. I threw my money away and worse than that I ended up worse for the treatments. Save your money or better yet see a plastic surgeon. Oh, and Morpheus is painful and I have a high tolerance for pain. Lidocaine alone IS NOT sufficient. I only got through it after asking to use the ProNox gas and believe me I sucked hard on it.

Were ypu able to sue the provider?
I did not want to pursue that. They have you sign so much paperwork that I think it would be worthless. I did send a lengthy letter with current picture but received no response.
no lawyer would take a cosmetic surgery case of any kind irrespective of the results. I'm a veteran of plastic surgery and have been doing it for close to 40 years laser procedures like this and way more aggressive procedures facelift necklace and a dozen other cutting procedures and I've spoken to dozens and dozens and dozens of lawyers and they won't touch these with a 10 foot pole. They know that the jury will have no sympathy for somebody who commits to a surgical procedure irrespective of what consent forms they sign or what they thought about the results being happy with the results are not happy with the results, a jury will take the posture that did not have to do the surgery it was completely elective and you pays your money and takes your chances. This is directly from the mouths of many many personal injury attorneys. Anyway if you think you consume a plastic surgeon, not be happy with the results you're kidding yourself. The only time a plastic surgeon can be sued if said there is medical malpractice with an intent to do harm. And or complete negligence leading to secondary medical conditions such as heart attack during the surgery due to improper anesthesia administration things like that but simply cosmetic concerns they don't take them.
I would say to have that same provider offer you a series of deep peels but I would worry since she did this that maybe she would not be ok doing peels on you either.
Do you know what she had the Morpheus set on? The needles heat under the skin and she may have had it turned up way too high and it burned tissue in the dermal layer. If the damage was too much then the tissues won’t recover and the damage is permanent. I wonder if red light therapy or a low level laser will help restimulate the cells to recover. Message me if you want to talk about some possible options that could help you.
It may not be permanent!
I appreciate your comments. I don’t know the settings used. A dermatologist tried a Cutera laser on a test spot the size of a dime and the marks turned purple for a few weeks before fading back to match the other marks. A plastic surgeon is going to do CO2 laser resurfacing at the end of August. I’m hoping that will resolve the track marks as well as the fine lines and wrinkles.
I had BBL laser to remove freckles on my face. Whilst it removed the freckles, the heat from the device melted the fat in my face (fat atrophy) and accelerated facial aging.
I would have consulted an attorney. I've had 4 Morpheus8 treatments in the last 6 months. It tightened the skin on jawline a bit. I have no marks on my face. I'm 68 years old and am happy with this modest improvement. I live in Florida and here you have 12 months to file a medical malpractice claim.
Thank you for your input!
Those consent forms don't matter.
