How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Much better but still worried
I had a bad recovery!!!
I went in to the provider’s office and was assured that I was ok- just having a harder recovery than is typical because I am just prone to very inflammatory responses as they know by rosacea. I’ve also been under tons of stress and I think this played into it.
I am not100% yet. And as you can see from my photo, I have redness and what looks like a rosacea breakout, but nothing that can’t be covered by Estée Lauder double wear. I am concerned about my lower face; it looks drawn and I have accentuated lines around my chin that were not present before.
The aesthetician has been very kind and has followed up with my frequently. She has encouraged me to do the two remaining Morpheus8 treatments I purchased, and said that the first treatment would have the hardest response. I really don’t want to- I would rather do a different treatment if only to avoid several days of pain. It did feel like I was burned for about 4 days. I also had to wear a mask for about 5 days; it was unsafe for me to apply makeup, and my face looked like I was a burn victim. (Of course it was a weekend when I had a lot of things to do in public, so I wore a mask.)
Will continue the Evoke treatments at this time, but very cautiously.

I wish I hadn't done this
I went in for a Morpheus 8 consult about a year ago. The day beforeI went, I found a Real Self review by a patient who had a terrible experience. (At that time, there were not many poor reviews.) So I asked about this and showed the review to the aesthetician.
She said she hadn't ever seen or heard of anything like this happening, and assured me that sort of occurrence was very rare. She said that they hadn't had anyone have a bad experience like that, and that this treatment was one of their specialties, so I would be in good hands.
I didn't schedule anything at that time, but decided to go back last week for another consult. I was recently diagnosed with rosacea, and I have been very self conscious and unhappy about my skin/appearance. I told the aesthetician that I wanted to do Morpheus because of the rosacea situation. She agreed it would be a good choice and added that I might have a little more swelling and inflammation than would be typical.
I signed up for Morpheus8 and Evoke facial remodeling and had my first treatments yesterday. The Evoke was done first, and was painless and easy. Then I did the Morpheus 8 with numbing cream. It was painful but tolerable.
Since the Morpheus 8, I have had continuous pain and swelling. There is crusting, blistering and oozing. It looks and feels horrible and I have the grid marks I have now heard described here on RS. I've followed all pre/post instructions to the letter.
I am holding onto hope that it's going to get better soon, but I am worried. Of people here on RS who have posted their side effect photos, I think mine looks the worst. I have emailed the aesthetician photos and I am hoping I'll hear back from the office in the morning to see if there is something more I can do.
I signed up for three treatments, plus the Evoke. I am NOT going forward with the other 2 Morpheus treatments. There is no way I could do another one, and it was supposed to be done again in only three weeks. I can barely tolerate touching my face. I don't consider this "minimal downtime" at all.
