Third Morpheus8 treatment 8/13/20

$1,800
This was my third treatment and I found it to be much more tolerable. About an hour prior to my appointment I used a 10.56 % lidocaine cream that I applied to my face. I then used Saran Wrap on my face where I cut out eye, nose and mouth holes crazy sounding I know. After the wrap was on I took my hair dryer and used the low setting to warm up my face. I didn’t just come up with this I saw it either on YouTube or online somewhere. This made it so much better. I can say that my skin after the second treatment really firmed up. I look quite young for 40 especially when I wear light makeup but I have a very nice plump and fitness to my skin. I do not have any Botox for wrinkles but I have had Botox for a slightly droopy eyelid and I actually think the skin above my eyes tightened up and It seems like I don’t need Botox for the droopy lid. I break out each time I have a treatment and I normally do not have acne. My skin is usually clear within two weeks. I had my first Morpheus8 treatment in January and had to put off my second treatment due to Covid so my results are from 3 treatments over an 8 month period. I will try to add final pics in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the update! You look great but didn't really need it in the first place :)
August 28, 2020
You look amazing you didn't need it :) update us after yes?! I got one done but I'm not sure about it. I'm worried to lose fat so decided not to continue with them.

I was worried about this too. I only read about fat loss after I got it done. So far I don't have fat loss as my face is pretty round. I think this procedure will cost less as time goes on. Did it hurt for you?

Can you also do some photos up right? Looks like you're laying down?

I'll take a few photos when I have better lighting we have bad storms right now. I was laying down on the exam table.

Are you still happy with your decision? You looked great to begin with but I'm curious how you liked the treatment? Thanks!

So overall I think my skin looks great but it's such a painful procedure I'd make sure to get the laughing gas plus a super strong numbing cream. I'm often mistaken for being in my late 20's early 30's and I'll be 41 in June. I'm not in a hurry to do this again because of the pain but I do think it plumps skin on a more permanent basis. I personally recommend IPL as that made a huge difference in the way my skin looks even toned and it's much less expensive.
February 15, 2021
I agree... other less expensive treatments work better. I've had two M8.. waiting to do the third just because it is paid for ... really not much difference to warrant 2500 bucks.. I think this is the latest touted treatment..and many reviews are plants by plastic surgeons offices that invested in the machine. Fyi.. I had my first treatment last August. So...given it a lot of time it has done nothing much at all to firm my neck..which is exactly why I invested and my plastic surgeon knew that. uhgg!

I think you may be right about the good reviews. I think the value for money spent isn't there and I paid $1800 for three treatments. I see firmer skin but I don't think this procedure produces dramatic results that are worth the price paid. I'd rather get an actual mini facelift when it's needed. For now I'm sticking to chemical peels and IPL.
February 19, 2021
I think you're spot on... I'd rather my $2500 go towards the neck lift I'm going to have to have. There is a doc here who does it under local anesthesia and I may do that...after I check three or so references this time.
User Avatar
February 19, 2021
I'm pretty sure mine does it with local too but he won't do it until at least 10 years from now. Oh well lesson learned.
February 20, 2021
I'm at that point. haha... At least you think ahead. :)

I couldn't believe how painful this procedure was! I cried during my third session. It was not bearable, and I didn't get the full treatment because of it. I have one more session tomorrow and I'm dreading it. On top of that, I haven't really seen great results. I went in asking for profractional laser treatment for acne scars and they steered me towards Morpheus 8 instead. I think it was a waste of my money, my time, and it hurts like @#$%!

I totally understand. I'd love to know how some people ( mainly on you tube) can act like this doesn't hurt like a son of a $@%#! I've been told I do not look like I'm in my 40's so maybe this treatment did tighten my skin a bit. Trying to help myself feel better about forking out $1800 to feel pain.

I just had the last of my RF microneedling and I cried at the end when she was doing under my chin where the aesthetician forgot to put numbing cream.

I live 45mins south of Orlando and RF microneedling cost me $1750 for 3 sessions. I like my results so far, I notice that my face is firmer. I also did add on PRP which is $250 each. I think I’ll ask for Valium next time.

SO PAINFUL!! I did not expect that level of pain. It felt like staple gun was being used on my face. A staple gun with 28 needles lol. I wasn’t able to complete my treatment either. I have one more as my package included two.

Second Morpheus8 treatment

User Avatar

This was my second Morpheus8 treatment. I had to move out the treatment due to Covid-19. Like the first treatment, the second treatment was very painful. This time I wised up and asked for breaks when I needed them. This helped a great deal. I’m 40 years old and feel I have nice skin and I’m trying to keep it firm and even toned. One factor seems to be what pre treatment comfort aids are offered at the facility providing treatment. The place I went to only offers numbing cream (which doesn’t seem strong enough) but it seems other places offer lidocaine injections and gas. The other office I was considering quoted me 3 treatments $4300 +$50 if I wanted gas. The place I chose was $1800 for 3 treatments. I’m not sure if higher prices correlate to more comfort because of the gas but I wasn’t willing to pay $4350 for this treatment. Fingers crossed or positive results.

4300 dollars sounds ridiculous ...I'm going to pay 2, 000 for three treatments of the face, neck, and chest.

Thank you! I just now saw this comment. Did you have the procedure? I just added some more photos of my latest treatment on 8/13. I'd like to know if you got it done what was your experience?
August 16, 2020
Do you mind adding some pics of final results and. commenting on if you feel it made a difference? Thanks
User Avatar

I will add some pics once my face clears up. My update may be confusing because all the photos were lumped together. I do think this treatment works but it's a slower process than fillers. Even after two treatments my skin is pretty firm. It will be another 2-3 weeks before the results of my final results show. I think there are other rf micro needling treatments that may give similar results for less money. I also get IPL which I find makes a huge difference in how young my skin looks so if that's something you haven't considered I'd look into it.
August 15, 2020
Also.. you look so crazy young... I'd say this was a great procedure to keep what you've been doing working.
August 28, 2020
where did you get this done?
User Avatar

I live in Pennsylvania and I went an hour and a half north in Scranton Pa
August 28, 2020
Gotcha. Thanks. I'm in Philly. Might be a bit far but great price but the pain doesn't sounds great.
August 28, 2020
omg you're 40? You look so good! What else have you done? Share :)

I'm not sure which type of topical anesthetic my clinician uses, but she gives it at least 45 minutes to take affect and I am almost completely numb during the procedure.

The very last treatment was more tolerable but at home I apply 10.56 % lidocaine and that is on for an hour because it was an hour drive. This was definitely the most painful treatment I've had.

I got the first of my three Morpheus8 treatments on 1/23. I have to say that for me this treatment was extremely painful. I've had IPL, fillers and this was by far the most painful. I know that a 5% lidocaine was used and I feel like something stronger should have been used. I had to ask to take breaks on multiple occasions. When I read on websites about the pain associated with Morpheus8 it mentions a warm feeling, I wish that was my experience. I felt like I had hot pokers in my skin. I did notice on the counter another numbing cream that was 23% lidocaine and I feel that should have been used. I am also breaking out and I've also had clear skin most of my adult life. I'm going to be patient and wait for my skin to heal.

Yes you should have been given a stronger numbing cream the treatment is very painful. My doc also gives me Pronox. Be patient he results take a week or two. I broke out as well make sure you're using a light moisturizer on acne prone areas
January 28, 2020
@dddd did you get good results eventually?
User Avatar
January 28, 2020
So I'm only 6 days out as I had my first treatment on 1/23/20. I'm 39 and have pretty good skin to begin with so this is more preventative maintenance. I will try to update a I see results.

So my skin is starting to look better overall. I'm using Avene post procedure cream which is made for this sort of thing. Next time I'm going to insist she use the 23% lidocaine. As 5 % wasn't close to being strong enough. I do feel my skin is more plump. Looking forward o more results.

I would definitely let the practitioner know about your breakouts if you do another treatment. I too was given products to use post-treatment and they made me breakout terribly. I let the nurse know the next time and she said that she had a lighter moisturizer that I could use, but I chose the Cetephil lotion I had at home because I know it's light and doesn't clog pores. I did find that my skin looked clearer (I've had three treatments) but I did not see any toning effects which is what I was really hoping to see. To be fair I had Skintite before the Morpheus and that had detrimental effects on my lower face and neck. So Morpheus could have been the better option but now my doctor is trying to remedy the negative outcome of the Skintite.

I'm 1 week out now Nd the breakout is pretty much cleared. I'm getting a second round of IPL tomorrow which was great for pigmentation. So hopefully that helps with the Morpheus8 acne marks. I'm really hoping the stronger numbing cream helps with pain. My next appointment is 2/27 so I'll update then. :-)
January 29, 2020
Could you elaborate on the negative outcome from the skintite? I had facetite on my neck and 3 rounds of Morpheous8 on face and neck.. Thus far I feel like my skin is looser and marionette lines are worse. I'm going to do a review with pics soon.
February 9, 2020
Hi yes I'm actually going to post pics and details now
December 24, 2021
How does the IPL FEEL. is it tolerable
January 29, 2020
It is ridiculously painful! Some docs inject lidocaine so you don't feel it. if I have it again, (the jury is till out 4 months post 1 st treatment 1.5 months post 3 rd,) I will go to a different MD. Full review soon

I can only describe it as feeling like I've been branded from the inside out. I wish I could have been injected with lidocaine. I've seen remarks on other similar rf micro needling that it can melt the fat which isn't what we want on the face. I'm hoping that the collagen builds for you and you see an improvement. Perhaps try taking a collagen supplement in the meantime? Best of luck and I'll post my results as I progress.

Update-almost 2 weeks out my acne is cleared and my skin is looking nice and plump. My tiny needle bumps seem to be mostly gone. I'll keep updating as time goes on.
March 5, 2020
My doctor injected the lidocaine, but I personally do not recommend this procedure if you have a thin face with no fat to lose.
November 3, 2020
How long did it take for your needle bumps to finally disappear? Hearing that you still had them around two weeks post procedure is a relief as I am over two weeks out and they are still very prominent! I’m starting to worry!

I believe they really got better around week three. I did start using a vitamin c serum and that gently exfoliates. It's been a few months after my last treatment and there's no sign I had it done. Overall my skin is firmer. I think you should try using a vitamin c serum daily and the old layers of skin will slough off. I Lao use a tea tree oil soap. I wouldn't pay this much money again for something so painful.
November 9, 2020
Thank you so much for responding! What type of vitamin c did you use? I just bought a Dr Dennis Gross vitamin c serum and I'm really hoping that works! Fingers crossed!

Sorry I just saw this now. I use a brand called Timeless skin care and it works really well. I also like products from the ordinary they work well too

I am still having trouble 5 weeks later. At first things seemed settled my face seemed my normal colour by the time I got home apart from my neck. I am now getting hot feelings on my face and parts of my neck almost look burnt. I am hot to touch on my face and neck. Hope this clears up and not sure if I want to go ahead with the other treatments.

I had it done on my stomach and knees. 4 weeks out and it’s still very purple and bumpy and red and hyperpigmentation everywhere. Trauma

How did everything go 3 months afterwards etc?
