I've been interested in botox for about a year now...
I've been interested in botox for about a year now. I have had a terrible habit of scrunching up my forehead almost constantly. I've been doing this as long as I can remember. It got to the point where the wrinkles were actually embedded into my head..at 25! I did a TON of research on botox. I saw horrific stories and I saw amazing results. Up until the day of my appointment I was scared to death!! What if I get droopy eyes? What if I look crazy? The doctor that I saw was on board with doing botox in my forehead as soon as he saw the deep lines in my forehead despite my age. Having heavy eyelids already, he warned me of the risk of this increasing. I decided to take the risk and have the procedure done. I informed the doctor that I would still like to have movement but the winkles lessened. He understood exactly what I wanted. He told me that he was only going to put 15 units in my forehead to lessen the likelihood of the heavy feeling I may get. I agreed but from what I read I was thinking this will not be enough! I knew that he was highly skilled in what he does and I trusted him. The procedure did hurt but just a little. Immediately after, I saw the lines on my forehead looked 50% better. I was so happy! But over the next few days I was scared of what was to come. Will it be too much? Well as each day passed, things got better and better. My forehead slowly lost the ability to "scrunch" up, my eyebrows have raised slightly (in a good way), and the constant tense feeling in my head is going away. It has been a week since the procedure and my forehead looks great. I can still raise my eyebrows and I do have two lines that appear above my eyebrows with extra skin when I do so (VERY SLIGHT) but I rather have this then have droopy eyelids. I am SOOO happy that I got this done! The picture shows me moving my forehead in the doctors office right before the botox and 4 days later trying as hard as I can to move my forehead. So..my story is..do what YOU want to do. I almost let the horror stories stop me from doing something that I truly wanted to do. Everyone is different and everyone will have a different experience. I hope that I continue to keep having good ones with botox.
