The motivation was to address a recurring cancer on the end of my nose which had spread through my columella to my upper lip over a 23-year period. Since I contracted skin cancer in 1992, I had been treating this particular area with two different dermatologists yet it kept recurring. Dr. Khanna came highly recommended yet procedure was a little frightening I must admit. On a scale of 1-10, the good doctor says it was a 9 and certainly a very difficult task. The procedures included 6 operations in one day to remove all the cancerous cells, and then the re-building of my nose, columella, and 2 cm of upper lip: this required visits to the hospital every two days for a 60-day period and the new nose, columella and lip were formed . The final process was 6 cold-laser treatments to the scars which, 15 months later, are hardly noticeable. Everyone at the Hospital and Dr. Khanna's clinic were amazing. I am so happy, you may even see the entire procedure and pictures on my personal Facebook page. God bless you Dr. Khanna, Cowboyd.

That's is wonderful, thank you for sharing!

How did they make you a new nose? From skin on your cheek?

Scars are hardly visible - what sort of post-op care did you have? Keep it clean, use petroleum jelly, etc.?

Thank you for sharing. Your healed results are amazing. Thank God for skilled and caring physicians and nurses. Hopefully the cancer has now been fully eradicated. I had MOHS followed by plastic repair for basal cell under an eye and I’ve elected to take niacinamide, an affordable vitamin supplement, to hopefully reduce the chance of recurrence. A recent study out of Australia showed that Niacinamide 500mg taken twice daily reduced recurrence of non-melanoma skin cancer by 23% in the study participants. Niacinamide (aka nicotinamide) is related to but different from Niacin. Niacin causes flushing, but niacinamide does not. I wish you the best.
