I had a rhinoplasty done in 2013, which has left me with a (perceived) longer upper lift. My research for a solution led me to RealSelf. I did not even know that such a procedured (lip lift) even existed at that time. So I began my search for a PS near my location (Montreal, Canada).
I choose Dr Samaha, because he specialize only in face procedures, and has an excellent rate average on Ratemydoctor.
I was scheduled on April 14 for the lip lift and also a earlobe reduction and some Restylane under my eyes.
Procedure has gone well and was virtually painless.

How long was your upper lip and how many MM did he take off? Please do keep us updated!

My upper lip was 17,5 mm. I'll have to ask my PS how much he took off when I see him next monday for the removing of sutures.

Thank you ! It is helpful to receive comments, since nobody, except my husband, knows I'm having this procedure done.
It's been only 48 hours, and the tapes are still there, so I can not see the scars yet.
Next monday, I will get the sutures removed.

Thanks for the reply ! Are you more swollen today ? I am scheduled for May 7 . I am very anxious because it is right in the middle of the face . So many pictures on this site the people's nostrils look larger and distorted. My PS ( also strictly facial) said this should not happen ! Anything you can post would be so helpful ! Thanks very much!

Hi Bmalfit1, I am a bit more swollen today (day 3), as it is expected. Also, the rolled portion of my upper lip that is newly exposed to air feels dry, so a good lip balm is a must. As for the enlarged nostrils, my PS told me that is also to be expected, but it is temporary. I know how you feel. I was pretty anxious too ! It is our face indeed !

looks good so early on!!! i am from toronto and am looking for a good LL surgeon, and would consider going to MTL. hope it all turns out well. nose looks swollen but hopefully that will come down very soon.

I got my sutures removed yesterday. My doc precribed me a silicone gel (Dermatix Ultra) to apply on the scar daily for 3 months. I can start putting make-up in a few days. He said NOT to massage the scar (as I asked since I read other people were told it was fine to massage the scar).
I am still swollen, but it is not very noticeable. My upper lift has relaxed a bit. I can now close my mouth effortlessly.
As for the lenght of my upper lip, It went from 17,5 mm to 12 mm. Since it is expected to relax a bit, I guess it should be about 13-14 mm as final result, which would be fine.
So far I am pleased with the results. I will change my review from "Not sure" to "Worth it".

I also had a rhinoplasty many years ago with teh same result. I think your results are fantastic - especially the minimal trauma after only one week. If I could get the same result I would definitely go for this op.

Hi, yes, but they first gave me a shot in the bottom that knocked me down pretty much, so I barely felt the shots around the upper lip.

Hi, my nostrils are very mildly enlarged, maybe 10 %. It's not noticeable. I am still very happy with the results. The only downside is that the whole area between my upper lip and my nose is somewhat stiff. I perceive the stiffiness when talking, eating, kissing, laughing. It's not a big deal though.

Hi, I' m posting a follow-up as I found this so helpful when I was doing my research for this procedure.
I am still very happy with the results. The scar is still visible but it is easily covered with a little make-up. The pictures were taken without make-up.

Thank you for sharing with is. Did your doctor cut into the nasal sills at all or just make a straight connwction below the sills? The scar looks very good.
