I made different search on this site and many others on the net. I also met specialists virtually and in person. They all gave me a good impression, showed me pictures of their work and basic explanation. But they also served me the "don't worry part". Dr Chen Lee took the time to answer my technical questions the first time I met him. It took about an hour and a half. He has a human approach and take the time to answer all your questions. He informed me of the risks and limitations of the surgery. Those are specific to each individual since our bodies are all different. He told me to think seriously about everything he said before planning a surgery with him and, of course, he didn't served me the "don't worry part". I had my surgery three weeks ago. When I have been awaked from surgery, I had almost no pain: I'd say 0,5 (not even 1) on 10 and it's because of the discomfort of the tape and medical bandage on my nose. From what I've read, that means the surgeon took his time to do the surgery with accuracy. My rhinoplasty took close to two an a half hours. So, these where good hints that Dr Lee has been careful. I was able to breath from my nose right after the surgery. But it was not practical because of the bandage. So far the healing is going well. I had very small bleeding once back home and the first week went well. After that week, I met Dr Lee and he remove the stitches. While doing it, he was explaining every action he was doing. That was not really painful maybe a 1 on 10, because some stitches are like mosquito bite when they are removed. The scars are already amazing after one week. Of course it depends on your skin type, but Dr Lee made them very smalls, so that gives your body the best chances of healing. Of course, I helped my body by taking no alcohol even if it was chrismas time. I'm a non-smoker and I don't drink coffee. My nose is still nub at the tip and will probably be for months. It's also swollen, but since I have lots of cartilage and a very thick skin, it was expected. Different noses with specifics surgery needs take different time to heal. Mine is expected to take about 8 to 12 months to heal. So I'll see the ending results by the next Christmas time. Meanwhile, everything Dr Lee told me is happening in the planned timecale. So I'm confident that the final results will be as expected. From my point of view, Dr Lee has what I call the vocation. He has a human approach, he's good in evaluating what he can or can't do in surgery, he has a good idea of the end results and the timecale of healing with the different techniques he'll be using, he's good at explaining what he'll do in surgery and he's careful and takes the time needed while doing is surgery. And, as you surely have guessed now, I highly recommend him and if I need other surgeries in the future, I will see him first. :-)
