My nightmare began with Dr. Usal using the Giampapa stitch. After unhappy with results he sent me to the inventor of procedure Dr. Giampapa...at first I believed he wanted to help and did a revision, after another revision because that was not right, I finally was okay for about 3 years until the suture ripped through my muscle causing my neck to fall. After having to convince Dr. G after a few visits, he tried to fix, costing me operating room fees again after he told me he can do in his office. Well that did not work and after many mental debates with myself he promised he would make me happy and I believed him and let him redo the entire surgery. My outcome was vertical lines, bulging scar tissue around my neck, choking feeling as he told me I wanted it tight....no I did not ask for tight, I asked that he fix it. Paralyzed lip and crooked smile for 2 months. I became a hermit, not social, hating myself for my decisions, my nightmare because I trusted and believed someone who everyone is taught to believe and respect. Thought about taking legal action and who knows what the future holds. Hope everyone does there research! I wish I did! Look out there and you will find someone that can make you feel like you want to again...but don't recommend Dr. Giampapa.

I'm so sorry for you! PLEASE DO TAKE LEGAL ACTION!!! Surgeons like this need to be stopped!

Thank you, I will look into my options. I completely agree and am saddened to see that other doctors use this technique, far and few between, no but they do because it a shortcut procedure to the standard necklift. Wish I did my homework years ago.

I wish I had found this site and the reviews before I had this terrible procedure. My suture suspension also resulted in a terrible outcome and my neck is still sagging and actually looks much worse. My terrible plastic surgeon even said that HE invented the suture suspension - I foolishly trusted him because he did work on people I knew and they didn't complain. I am sorry you had such a terrible experience. I just don't have it in me to even try and find another surgeon because I don't believe or trust in any of them. I had no idea the suture suspension is such an awful and ineffective procedure and I regret it as well as the loss of money I incurred. I too am in NJ and if you want you can email me.

how are you now? did you have a revision?

Unfortunately, I cannot have a revision because I was told it would result in additional scarring. My neck is still sagging and the suture is still buried deep inside. I gave up on finding an honest and capable plastic surgeon. I'm very depressed over this expensive disaster.

Do not have this doctor do surgery on you. Huge regrets that I will live with rest of my life. I am not the only one. Research him, however, some of the negative reviews seem to be deleted. I wonder how that happened. Go to NYC!
Research your doctors and their work. Arrogance does not make a good doctor. Wish I knew better and hopefully this will help someone from regrets.

Has anyone had it undone? 10 years ago - I simply wanted the Platysma muscle stitched. I was happy with wrinkles around my eyes - no botox - nothing - just didn't like the separation of those muscles. He sold me on have the suture suspension thing. I had no idea. I agreed but within days of the surgery was back at his office asking for it to be undone. He encouraged me to wait a few months with the assurance that releasing the stitch from one ear would alleviate the "noose" sensation around my neck. Here I am - TEN YEARS later and it is driving me crazy. I had my children late in life and feel like this stupid decision I made at 41 when my first born was 4 has affected my enjoyment watching them grow. Just today I called another plastic surgeon - FINALLY. I hope to find out if he can completely remove the suture with the hopes that will eliminate the noose sensation. Has anyone attempted to remove this suture this late with success? give me a saggy neck anyday. how awful this has all been. :-/

I had my suture removed but still have a tight neck from scar tissue. Tried cortisone, Botox, acupuncture , ... What surgical/ non surgical technique worked for you?
