Disappointing Insurance Update

Finally, I heard back from my insurance company. Sadly, it was not what I wanted to hear. They will only cover $700 for "out of network" surgery. That would mean I would have to pay the remaining amount of $7,450.00+. This is so upsetting. I found a PS that I trusted (Dr. Feng)...someone very experienced in explanting with capsule and willing to remove my 7+ silicone containing lymph nodes. I know health is very important, but we just cannot financially afford that amount, even with Care Credit.

The good news is Insurance will pay 100% of In-Network Surgeon's, but I now must start all over again to find a PS that I'm comfortable with and one that I trust.

Ultrasound & Consulation with Dr. Lu-Jean Feng

So relieved that Dr. Kahn (loved him) didn't find anything suspicious on my ultrasound. I haven't had a mammogram for at least 5 years. However, the findings regarding my implants were VERY odd.

RIGHT SIDE: Implant was confirmed ruptured, at least 6 silicone containing lymph nodes.

LEFT SIDE: Unusual appearance of implants. Appears to be "stacked" implants, 1 pre-pectoral & 1 retro-pectoral (of course I was unaware of this!). Found tiny amount of silicone granuloma.
So the guess is that the implant underneath may have been ruptured and "just left in" & another implant was placed on top. UGH! Not sure WHAT surgery this would have happened with, but it's my guess it was the last one in 1991. NOT happy about that!!!

CONSULT with DR. FENG: She was a lovely woman who spent at least 1 1/2 hours with me. I felt very comfortable with her & trust that she is the right choice due to her expertise in enbloc explanting. Because of the "3 Implant issue", her fee for explant only was a little higher- $8150. I'm going to try to run it through insurance, so I didn't schedule a date yet. Insurance will probably take 2-4 weeks for an answer. Although she said I would definitely benefit from a lift, I decided to explant only at this time, then wait for at least 6 months. I must say, the pics she took of my breasts looked even worse than the pic I have on my review! My areola indents were definitely more obvious in that lighting. I hate the way my implants look now and my hope is that the "Au Naturale" look will be an improvement.

2nd Consultation

I decided to go ahead and schedule a consultation with another PS, Dr. Lu-Jean Feng (Cleveland). My appointment is April 13th. I'll be getting an ultrasound right before consult. I'm very nervous because I haven't had a mammogram for 5 years. Prayers appreciated.
