3 months post-op

Today marks exactly 3 months since having surgery. It feels like SO much longer and I can’t believe how different I looked and felt just 3 months ago. Three more months and I’ll be [confidently] hanging by the pool!! I’m so excited for summer and crop tops and dresses.
Dr. Iteld is fantastic in every way and I have no regrets choosing a surgeon 6 hours away from my home, thanks to him. His office staff are also top notch (Caryle is amazing) and my only complaint now is that recovery is over and I don’t get to talk with them as much!
These photos were taken today. ???? I realized I hadn’t been taking photos regularly and at this point I want to be seeing how much my scar visibility will begin to improve. I wish my scar could be a little lower, but realistically, I know that’s not exactly possible. I’ve tried on a few swimsuits and it’s still difficult to shop for them, mostly because of the scar. I know the right style is out there though, and I’m confident that the scar will heal well and fade with time.
Recovery led by Dr. Iteld was pretty much a breeze. Pain was the least of my concerns even though I was narcotic-free and I mostly relied on ibuprofen. I had one drain that I was able to have removed after 1 week. The hardest part of recovery for me was having to sleep upright. There were a lot of restless nights. I also got a stomach virus about 2 weeks post-op and I would not wish that experience on anyone - yikes. I ended up renting a recliner, which helped with sleep, but it was still awful and couldn’t have been happier when I was finally cleared to lie down and sleep in a normal bed.
Overall, I am extremely happy that I made this decision for myself, and grateful that I had a friendly, confident, skilled surgeon to give me the body and experience I needed.
