3 Mo Post Op Update

My lower abdominal area still sticks out more than I like, but has smoothed out a bit more and we plan to do a touch up with a bit of sculpting in Sept. It's the side view that it is super noticeable, looking straight on at my tummy you don't see it. The numbness is of course still pretty prevalent closest to the scar and as you get further from it the feeling is coming back bit by bit. I fully understand this is a long healing process for your nerves. I don't itch nearly as much thank goodness because it was keeping me up at night. I still wear my compression belt here and there or a really firm tummy control thong panty on some days. It helps and I honestly should be doing this more often.
My breasts are finally fluffing out and absolutely no issues. Scars are healing nicely and I can lay on my chest no problems. I'm also back to working out in the gym. Not doing any ab workouts, but can do things that involve my core.

Week 6

The edema (Swelling) in my lower abdomen area just above the scar has reduced a bit more with steady compression and keeping legs elevated in the evenings. I can finally further see the results and feel more confident in snugger clothing options. The family size calzone at the end of the day is now just a couple of hot pockets hahahaha! I still notice the ridge line of the scar and definitely still wear strong compression panties. I double up sometimes on the too light compression Spanx and I have some Jackie London brand kind of boy short style arriving soon. I'll try to get a new photo this weekend as I test out getting into a bikini (Keeping the scar covered and sunblock on just in case!). I'm really feeling more and more excited and confident!

Complete Refresh!

Dr. Brown, his wife and office staff are all amazing! I was able to get in for a consult within an extremely reasonable timeframe.
Dr. Brown and Hillary made me feel immediately at ease discussing what I was looking to accomplish and providing feedback to me.
1. I knew I wanted my old saline implants removed and to replace them with silicone and go a tad larger since I had so much loose breast tissue. He advised a lift would be necessary in order to ensure everything sat they way it needed to. If I didn't I could end up with nipples sitting way to low etc... He could see that the implants I had done in 1998 were too narrow for my frame. He got all the measurements needed and explained everything.
2. I knew I wanted a tummy tuck and was prepared that a mini probably wouldn't be a good fit. He of course stated for best results I needed a full TT because of the skin laxity I had above belly button and how far it would move when we did a pinch test etc... With that it made sense to go ahead with tightening the underlying muscles. I am a Mom of just 1 and 27 yrs since I gave birth, yo yo weight gain/loss over the years and even though I look small, am not overly heavy the laxity looked awful if I leaned over and lumpy standing. Agreed to full TT, muscle tightening and lipo 360 to get my bra fat and flanks. I have always hated my back fat!
3. Dr. Brown suggested we not waste the fat and pointed out my side dips and a bit of flattening in my derrière (Some of it is how it's always been and some due to age). At 53 I agreed may as well add a little volume there and to hips as he saw fit to create an aesthetic shape.
4. I asked also if he could use a little fat to touch up the face where needed and he put some in my lips as well.

WOWZA!!!! I am 4 weeks post op (Sorry I really didn't due true before and after photos) most of the swelling has subsided and the hourglass shape he has created is INCREDIBLE. I am still experiencing lower abdominal swelling just above the scar and trying to stay patient for that to smooth out more. Week 2.5-3 I was a little depressed from feeling so big and bloated, but every day has been an improvement and just in 1 week time about a 2 inch loss around my waist from swelling reduction. I'm going to give it more time for the lower area to further heal and personally I am staying in moderate to heavy compression almost 24/7. I am going to ease up now at night time during sleep, but plan to continue compression clothing as much as possible.
I'll try to remember to do a follow up on the lower abdominal area around week 6. I call it the hot pocket to calzone scale. At the end of the day the swelling is definitely at a Calzone smuggling level!

I am thrilled with all the rave compliments I am getting on my figure and even my massage practitioner said it was some of the best work she has ever seen!
