My experience following a "Mommy Makeover" performed by Dr. Luster at Avana Plastic Surgery in July 2025 was catastrophic, resulting in severe and potentially negligent complications. The postoperative course was rapidly complicated by a confirmed Pseudomonas aeruginosa surgical site infection. This infection necessitated an emergency explantation of a breast implant, led to nipple necrosis and subsequent loss, and resulted in a significant, disfiguring breast deformity. Furthermore, the abdominoplasty incision experienced dehiscence and required multiple surgical debridements. Despite repeatedly raising concerns regarding purulent drainage and wound breakdown, Dr. Luster allegedly failed to adhere to the standard of care by not recommending urgent infectious disease consultation or emergency department evaluation, resulting in delayed aggressive treatment. The resulting complications have led to extensive financial losses, significant work absences, and profound emotional distress. Reconstructive surgery is now required to address the disfigurement. Furthermore, the facility still owes a documented $1,440.00 refund, which remains unpaid four months post-procedure. Prospective patients are urged to thoroughly research this facility's complication rates before seeking treatment.
