Surgery a week away!

WORTH IT
Feeling very excited and nervous. Mommy makeover planned for 9/26 with TT, Lopo of the flanks, and breast lift & augmentation. Worried about recovery pain and also just nervous about such a log surgery. I've never had any type of surgery before. So excited about a flatter tummy. I do feel really confident in my surgeon and after my post op feeling more at ease but still lots of jitters.

Day 1 - post op

pain is a little worse than I expected but not impossible to deal with. I was very scared and anxious going in. So glad I had the first appointment of the day at 6:30. Arrival time was 5:30 am and once I got there it was precision timing getting me ready. That helped because it left me with less time to worry. My nurse Erin was awesome and helped put me at ease. Dr Baker came in to mark me up and within 15 minutes we were rolling to the OR and I don’t even remember getting there.
Afterwards I woke up to Erin’s friendly face and definite pain. They worked quickly to get it under control. The only thing I would say that was negative at all was that my husband couldn’t come into the surgery center due to remaining COVID restrictions and post op felt rushed. I felt like surely there is no way I’m ready to go home!
Once home I settled in and tried to stay on top of pain. I’ve always been proud of my pain tolerance (3 large babies with drug free deliveries) but I’ve never had surgery so this was all new. Pain is definitely worse than I planned even when staying up on meds but not unbearable and I keep reminding myself worth it in the end! Too nervous to look, haven’t taken the under or bra off yet. On another note, can barely feel any pain in my boobs due to TT pain.

Wow congratulations. Keep in touch and let us know how it goes. Did you get any special equipment to get around the house

I did borrow a walker from my father in law who just had his hip replaced. I got a wedge pillow for the bed and one for under my knees and they've been perfect. I tried to find a balance between buying all the things on all the recovery lists and what I thought would be really necessary. I didn't buy a toilet seat riser before hand but I'll have one by tomorrow :) thx amazon. I think it will be super helpful so my husband doesn't have to lift me on and off. I already had a zero gravity camping chair so I'm using that instead of dealing with getting a recliner then having to get rid of it once I don't need it anymore.

I sounds impossible to get up and down especially if stiches on breast too. Do you have to stay in a sitting up position so the stomach doesn’t pull
