WORTH IT
All the tape is off!! And let me tell you how scary it is. I don’t know why, it just is. But now I find myself wanting to stay in a plastic bubble until everything is 100% healed and sealed. I’ve had staph infection before and I’m not sure if it makes you more susceptible to it again. But every day I shower with hypo clean and then clean my wounds with this special wound wash. It might be over kill. But when you don’t have a follow up doctor to go and say “does this look funny” it makes you think twice about your wound care. I send pictures to my PS but, it’s not the same.

Try this again
Taking it easy has never been my thing. So trying to just kick back and heal my body is driving me nuts. However, I have little to zero pain. I never took pain meds, so anything now compared to day one would be like a hangnail.
For myself so I don’t over-do anything I set a timer on my phone for every 2 hours and would walk on my treadmill. I increased it a little everyday. I can’t wait to get back to the gym!
My PS has been pretty alright at getting back to me when I have questions. It’s about 24-48 hours before I get my questions answered. There are some things that are a little inconvenient when you go abroad for surgery. Well not even abroad, just even out of state. Like I had to remove my own drains (super easy). My husband just had to remove my bellybutton stitches. And now I still have all my steri-strips on. I’m waiting to hear from my PS on what to do with those. I get all my questions answered, I just have to do the stuff myself. I knew that going into it, but it’s different when you practice it. I still don’t mind doing it. It’s just different.
