Slow but steady

WORTH IT$16,000
I just started doing beginner yoga. High impact exercise is still uncomfortable. I was 150 pounds on day of surgery. I have been staying at 145 since. I would like to weigh a little less but know that dieting just leads to overeating. I am considering lipo when the surgery is paid off. Anyone else experienced tight and tender belly 7 months after a TT? Thanks all

I had a fleur de lys and I didn’t have tenderness but the area above my umbilicus looks like I gained weight, but I didn’t. Also my incision has been itching since a month after I had it done 2 years ago. And still does off and on.

These updates are like little diary entries where the story of my body is just one chapter. I left my boyfriend and found a place in my favourite neighbourhood. I can walk and bike everywhere. It still hurts when I sneeze. Stretching or any hint of core work is uncomfortable, sometimes painful. I continue to wear my “waist trainer” 24/7. I feel supported and secure in it. For a couple days I went without and my tummy was tingly, extra numb and very sensitive. Picture attached of what I use. Doc ok’d this product once I no longer needed the surgical binder. It’s $20! Since surgery day I am the same weight but lost 1-2 sizes. Everything fits better, looks better and I love my results. This is the first time in my life I love my belly and boobs :) THe activities my body currently accepts include: bicep curls, squats, bike, walk. I am curious where you guys were at the 3 month mark?
Photos are from this evening after biking home and showering.
All the best to the ladies out there healing on so many different fronts. Myself included.

Where did you buy your waist trainer

In Polo Park there is a store called Showcase I think. It’s the store with all the “As seen on tv” products. It’s across from the new Tim’s on the Sears end of the mall. Did you end up getting work done with Islur or Turner? If so, how was it ? ♥️

You can find that waist trainer on eBay & Amazon, just an fyi.

I see Islur in a few weeks however the cost of the surgery is ridiculous using the internal bra which is the alloderm mesh to help hold the breast tissue, implant and to create more of a crease. I saw Dr. Turner, he is not a fan of the internal bra and his fee including a lower abdomen lift was so reasonable. Islur has a big fan base but a lot of it I think is social media. He has some new techniques to surgery but Turner has been around for a while and knows his stuff so very likely I'll have the surgery done with Turner. How are you liking your results now that everything is settling?

I love my results. I have the body I always wanted. I still feel uncomfortable if I don’t wear the waist trainer daily. Belly sure takes its time healing but that’s ok.

I know this is a year+ later but I hope you're proud of yourself for all of the physical and emotional work you've done. I don't know you but I am proud!!

Nope. No yoga just yet.

Yesterday I tried 20 minutes of yoga. The same type I was doing pre surgery. Today is a very sore day! There are lots of different ideas of when to return to yoga. Best source of info is my own body and today my Body said a very strong “Nope!” I will try again in a few weeks. For now biking and walking feel great. I started bicep curls to rebuild some muscle and that is alright. My lower belly did not like yoga.
:( if a tummy tuck doesn’t teach you patience , I don’t know what will.

Sounds like you're doing well. How's your swelling and tightness ? I'm 2 months post op and it is still driving me crazy. Do you have any areas in your belly that feel hard?

Hi there. I don’t notice much swelling. Oddly, the few times I have experienced it, it’s been in my mon pubis region. When I over do it, it feels large and sore like I have to pee all the time. Hardness, not so much. But tingly, yes! Like when my leg falls asleep, that’s what it feels like on my belly when I touch it. I wear a girdle 24/7, just a cheap one and not the binder the doc gave me post surgery. It really helps my belly feel good. Do you still wear any compression garments? The most painful spots post surgery was where the drains were. Getting the drains out was a huge game changer for pain mgmt. When I over do it, those are the first areas to say “ouch” .

The swelling and tightness are driving me crazy. They told me it to take up to a year for all of this to go away. If I just knew ahead of time I never would have done this. I'm glad you don't have to deal with the swelling. Be thankful!!!!

Oh, and I just wear shape wear now. I stopped wearing my binder at 6 weeks.

What kind of shape wear? I have heard spanx is very uncomfortable. What would you recommend? I found a “waist trainer” for $20 that dubs as my compression garment. I found a pair of compression yoga pants but they were $120!

I got Maidenform extra firm shapewear. Kinda like a girdle. The waist band was kinda tight so I cut little slits in the band to release the tension a little. That helps a lot.

I can't do yoga yet either. I could not even think to try. I've been doing the elliptical or bike and lower body weights for 4 weeks . Just added biceps and triceps this week. I only workout 3x a week and really feel swollen after. I stopped wearing the binder after 6weeks as per my PS, but a few people told me they wore their for 6 to 8 mths, and swear that their shape stayed due to wearing it longer. So I'm doing the same . You look great by the way!!
